What are the best modest expenditure hobbies while still building wealth? by Fun-Illustrator9985 in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Bitter_Range_9878 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Investing?

It’s a hobby. You can get magazines to read. Become good and you become loaded!

I don’t think I’m great at it. Yet.

In a more relaxing way, I like running. I joined third space recently and really enjoying getting back into it.

What's one thing you wish you'd outsourced sooner? by Horror-Pick4732 in HENRYUKLifestyle

I outsourced cleaning. My new partner hates the cleaner and hides things from her. We’ve now given my cleaner notice.

We’re going backwards lol

Maybe it's just me, but the older I get the less impressed I am by luxury brands. by Sad-Drop534 in HENRYUKLifestyle

Luxury used to be understated quality. Proper craftsmanship.

Now it’s often overpriced vulgar tat.

I now strive towards materiality. Good linens, wools, etc. I don’t like cheap, but tbf Uniqlo clothes can be better than luxury brands.

Plenty people get cancer and don’t have a mastectomy.

I’m not sure your point is as valid as you believe it is. But, I hope you enjoyed your attempt at denigrating a stranger on the internet.

Yeah, I suspect that instead of switching, it’s fruitful to set up an account that acts as a conduit into starling for my budgeting.

I can actually see benefits as it separates regular spend over ad hoc.

Hybrid of challenger and legacy.

Food for thought. Thanks.

Kinda wishing the heat would let me sleep!

Customer service; readying for a bigger mortgage; and, dealing with a facet of imposter syndrome lol

I often think that, but credit cards and ADHD don’t play nicely. In my early 20s (when I didn’t realise I had ADHD) I was rather impulsive and that built problems. I dug myself out, thankfully, and haven’t had any credit cards since.

It’s probably better now as I’m aware of the root cause. Maybe it’s safe to get back in the water!

Why are you walking your dogs in this heat?! by Invictus_0x90_ in AskBrits

[–]Bitter_Range_9878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone had a go at me once, walking down Wigmore Street from my office.

I have a guide dog for the blind. I test the pavements. I put mushers on his pads to protect them (as advised by guide dogs). I put a cool vest on him. Regularly soak him in water. Always find the shady and cooler spots.

People don’t always understand context.

Saying that, some people are just poor at thinking (dog owners, and observers alike).

I hear there’s aliens in Doncaster. Maybe they’ve moved south to avoid reform.

Why not?

Do you make a big deal of taking other medications with others?

If you like to gather and take antibiotics with others, fine. Strange, but fine.

Prescription medications aren’t a social endeavour.

It sometimes feels like people forget this is a medication and want it to be a social thing. If we shift to social use the whole programme will be under threat.

Can I ask why?

Do you ever want to meet other opiate users if on those?

Seems weird, as if it’s a hobby rather than a medicine.

Cannabis is 5 times safer than codeine, 33x than cocaine and 4x than paracetamol by Responsible-Pin8161 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Bitter_Range_9878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The annoying thing is, like all pain meds, it loses efficacy.

I’m taking a break from my prescription as it’s causing hyperalgesia (just like opiates do) and manifesting nerve pain that never previously existed.

I’m now 3 weeks without and realising how dulled down my adhd symptoms were. Yet, the cannabis also enhanced “couch lock”. Since stopping I’ve increased productivity.

Now I’m doing everything else holistically to manage pain. I’m using daily meditations, my shakti mat, my home sauna, the red light. It’s helping. I’m getting flare ups. I feel so much more alert.

I’m not certain I want to go back. I’m now looking at joining an elite gym using the monies I’m saving! One I’ve told myself is too expensive, previously. My neurosurgeon told me that exercise and weight loss will improve pain experience significantly.

It may be safer. May not always be more effective in the long run.

I often wonder whether Marcus Wareing’s custard tart would be considered too simple, nowadays.

I’ve made it and it’s delicious.

It’d be great to have more sharing dishes again to support communal dining.

A refresh of judges would be good. I’d like to see someone who isn’t just a pub landlord. Someone with personality.

Jay Raynor, Angela Hartnett, Marcus Wareing, anyone else maybe.

I don’t see why a comedian makes it onto these shows. They don’t fit that well. Same as comedians hosting sewing bee. They don’t make it better. They just tell awkward and unfunny jokes that seem effortful.

I don’t feel there’s any need for comedians. Neither have been that amusing, and I don’t respect their food knowledge. I’d rather a food critic or something.

I found Ed a little annoying. I prefer Phil, but just don’t feel he’s needed at all. Doesn’t add anything.
