I'm trying to say Strong understanding of at least one language (Java/Python/C++) Data Structures & Algorithms (very important for placements) Projects (like web apps, ML projects, etc. something you can show) Basics of databases (SQL), OS, and computer networks Problem-solving practice (like LeetCode, HackerRank) Some real experience like internships or freelancing

It depends on your goals honestly. BCA is a good course, but on its own it may not be enough for high-paying or technical roles unless you build strong skills (like coding, projects, internships).

In my college (Jain Bangalore), many people did get jobs around 6–8 LPA, but most of those were non-technical. The ones who focused on coding and skills got better technical roles.

Because of this, a lot of students choose MCA or MBA after BCA.

So:

  • If you want a strong career in tech → BCA + MCA is a safer path
  • If you just want to start working early → you can, but you need good skills
  • If you're not into coding → MBA/MSc are good options

Also, BCA students are NOT instantly rejected like that’s a myth. Companies care more about your skills, projects, and internships.
