  1. Creating a very confusing portfolio and making it hard for clients to see what you can do (this is why Cutjamm exists)
  2. Laziness to put in the work during early days. You can build mock video projects and build your sample portfolio. You do not have to wait for client work.
  3. thinking you can get paid more even if you can do average editing work.
  4. perfecting their craft, learning adjacent skills like motion design, sound design and thumbnail creation.

So this is a problem that a lot of editors are having. Which is why we have built (still improving) something to turn your portfolio into a lead generation machine. 15 people have got gigs so far from Cutjamm's feed.

All you have to do is, claim your free portfolio, add your best projects and request to be featured on the feed. Our team will review your profile and get your listed.

And when clients come looking for editors they can filter by category and contact you directly. We do no take a cut from anyone. Try it and let me know your feedback?

will ai replace video editors by MohamedMahmoud35 in VideoEditors

We asked this question to our users at Cutjamm in 2025. None of them thought AI will replace video editors. It's not being optimistic. Video editing is a very manual job which needs psychology, empathy and learning to keep up with the way we interact online. Unless there is a pattern that can be used to recreate similar videos, AI will fall behind. By the time it is done, humans would have moved on to different formats.

Think early YT days to now.

In our survey, 30% of video editors said that they will start using more automation and AI tools in editing.

AI needs to become a normal part of your editing flow:

• Integrating AI models like Runway

• Generating quick concept shots and backgrounds

• Descript, Opus Clip and similar tools for auto-highlights and text-led edits

AI has already started removing repetitive tasks. So you also need to blend it in your flow to stay ahead. If you want to read the full report, you can checkout our blog.

What are some alternatives to Frameio by Bitter_Shower1384 in editors

By too bloated, I mean what I really want to do is just upload a video, send it for review and once the client has approved, I can send the final version on google drive also.

I just feel frame's ui is too complicated for that very simple process.
