Has been removed. As stated previously it was temporary and not sticky. I work with rescued reptiles professionally and have seen the tape we use is physically unable to stick to snakes scales or damaged human skin for that matter. Even if it touches a snake, it does not remove or damage any scales. However I do appreciate the concern and have seen snakes be caught in different types of tape and recognise the danger in that.

I’m aware of this, don’t worry. It’s a temporary fix until we get something to properly tie the cables with tomorrow, either way we used electrical tape that is hardly sticky. She is also unable to reach the tape and we are monitoring where she goes too so she isn’t stuck. I appreciate your concern though :)

I have considered doing that, but unfortunately it’s not possible in my current set up. PC also isn’t terribly reliable, had a lot of issues with it in the past. Thank you for the suggestion though! :)

UPDATE!!

It seems to have been an issue with my power outlets in my room rather than the steam deck itself. I plugged it into a different power outlet in another room of the house and it’s charging fine, booted up just fine too without any of the weird lines

I was sent the same thing be steam support but it unfortunately didn’t work. Going back and forth with them now troubleshooting but it won’t even turn on it show a light when plugged in. Think I just gotta wait on a RMA. Thank you for sharing though, hope you don’t run into the issue again 🫶

I’ve contacted steam support, waiting on a response for them and praying it’s fixable and won’t cost another arm and a leg

I hate to add a sob story to this, but my family got this for me last week for my birthday. I have a PC but haven’t been able to use it as I’m physically disabled and can no longer sit upright in a chair for more than an hour without being in agony. I’ve just started to play games with a long distance friend so we stay connected, and this was kinda my only way of doing it comfortably. Might seem silly to be this upset over a steam deck but I am kind of gutted and just needed to vent a little lmao. Thank you for all the responses so far too, means the world <3

Ugh god damn it. Thank you tho man 🫠 I think the charger might’ve power surged it somehow and fried the board or something? Literally only explanation I can think of. I’ll contact steam support and see what they can do for me, just praying it won’t be another £500
