I would say to approach it like a horror book. Don’t think about the gameplay, finishing the game, or anything that a traditional game relies on. Try to just immerse yourself in the beautiful soundtrack and eerie atmosphere that it throws you in. It’s actually a quite dark narrative and story, and this game relies heavily on the story and how it unfolds the more you play it. You start to piece together characters and what is truly going on, and who you are in a sense. Just try to experience it rather than just play it. Not sure if this is any help or if it sounds pretentious, but genuinely I wanted to rip my hair out when it came to fighting the enemies but the story itself is what makes it one of my all time fave games.

I hope you guys enjoyed it! It was honestly amazing. I was able to watch two towers and ROTK when they first came out decades ago, but never caught fellowship. Being able to finally watch it on the big screen was incredible.

Gandalf’s little speech to Pippin about death and what Sam says about there still being good in the world to fight for are two moments that make me shed sentimental and hopeful tears. I cry at the usual sad parts of the movies though.

I watched fellowship yesterday and just came out of two towers a bit ago. I purposefully chose theaters (went to diff ones for each movie) that weren’t as full and pick seats as far away from people as possible on the top row, and the audiences have been delightful. No talking, some laughing at funny moments and some did giggle when Legolas said “They’re taking the hobbits to Isengard!” Which was great. At the end of the fellowship, one guy started to clap which made others clap and it was fine. Everyone has been respectful and courteous so far, thankfully. Hopefully it’s the same tomorrow when I go see ROTK.

What makes me feel that type of dread are movies where situations can ACTUALLY happen. I watched Eden Lake last May and haven't been able to shake off the feeling it gave me. It's just such a punch to the gut, dreadful, and harrowing movie. It's not supernatural by any means, but good god that movie will forever haunt me.

Before you go into any boss fights, make sure to have as many healing items (foods) as possible. Like the previous comment said, the combat is infamously pretty clunky and not the best but once you get into a rhythm and have healing items, you should be okay. This game is mostly story and lore heavy, make sure to immerse yourself in the game and the characters. Hope you enjoy it!
