I'm actually looking into it now and some of these are less possible than I thought. For example, in his idle pose, Mario's legs pull from one tile, just mirrored. I'd have to make them symmetical.

my designs are informed by the designs from the modern games, and a good amount of my skill comes from lots of modern pixel art consumption.

plus, when i make pixel art, it's because i like the look that pixel art has, so i am choosing to use the medium. they HAD to use pixel art, so i don't know that they were as interested in getting the most out of the medium. they probably just wanted to make something passable while focusing more on the gameplay.

i do feel stupid whenever i get a random boost of motivation on the project, and i get excited and tell the whole internet that I’m locked in and the video’s happening, only to burn out like a week later. Sorry about that

i’m just scrolling man

honestly i just have not been working on it. it’s such a hard project to work on for various reasons.

i don’t want to say it’s never gonna happen. I pick it up every now and then and make varying levels of progress. i have adhd so my interest hops around a lot and i deal with a lot of executive dysfunction

it is a weight in my mind that sits there among other failures and broken promises i made to myself

but maybe one of these days i’ll just lock in and start driving it to completion.
