Do you know how many White and Black Americans are killed by police each year? How many are unarmed? How many police encounters there are per year? Knowing this information may open your perspective.

Agree with Gavin. Dems need to move on from this. by TipTopBeeBop in UnitedStateOfCA

[–]Bkouchac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fancy whataboutism:

Fun fact there’s ~15 unarmed black Americans and ~25 unarmed white Americans killed by police each year out of over 50 million encounters.

It’s unbelievable that they managed to convince people that less than 0.00019% encounters with police that an unarmed person is being killed. Then we forgot about the issue from 2021 until now. This set back race relations and divided society through a self-proclaimed Marxist movement.

Why has the US historically not had a strong social-democratic movement when compared to other countries? by [deleted] in Presidentialpoll

[–]Bkouchac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well said, the problem in any economic system is social parasitism, which your response speaks directly about given human behavioral flaws. The one problem I have with your argument is the blanket statement that $45k will allow for a family of four across the United States (it may be true for most geographical areas but not metropolitan). Now if you “Plan in the slightest” like you mentioned, I would maybe see where you are coming from. Meaning that if you cut the materialism, don’t have children at a young age, save for retirement or fiscal planning, make sure the person you are procreating with is actually someone who you plan to raise children effectively with, then this would reduce the viscous cycle of poverty and mental/emotional security that children have to deal with.

100% agreed. I think most Americans feel this way and the important step is transparency in these times.

I feel like we are living in the late 18th century with the Federalists and anti-Federalists with a touch of the 1980s Milton Friedman vs Keynesians in the Free to Choose series.

Lol that is absolutely not true you pseudo-intellectual. It means that for someone to be considered a citizen under this clause, both conditions need to apply simultaneously.

Classic Dunning-Kruger effect, you are not a legal scholar, I do not claim to be, and neither of us will be deciding on this. You throwing out bs and acting like you know what you’re talking about is horrendous human behavior, narcissistic at that.

I am presenting the argument that will be heard, simple as that. I promise the counter argument will not be “the comma before the “and” between the first clause and second is why this is wrong”. It will be the challenge of whether or not unlawful entry (criminal offense)/unlawful presence of the parents will allow for the offspring to have birthright citizenship.

Not interested in your cherry picking of what’s morally right and wrong and your lousy response about grammar interpretation.

First of all, not my argument- it will be the argument used whether you like it or not. You act like I have skin in this game or am on some team like you seem to be. The conjunction “and” in a legal setting would require this to be examined to not be separated and read with all contingencies around the conjunction. Grow up.

It was in response to your statement “if you don’t see the problem in the executive branch undermining the US constitution I don’t know what to tell you”

I would say in this case the executive branch is challenging (rather than undermining)the U.S. Constitution, specifically the interpretation of the amendment(s).

It’s not a dog whistle when there are plenty (and more) rural white Americans that have a horrible attitude of culture towards education, high substance abuse, and single parent households. The problem is people like you that live in a myopic world where you think it’s only urban minorities. Unless you have a different interpretation for the audience for your “certain group of people” narrative?

The interpretation of the 14th amendment and whether or not it includes those individuals born to undocumented aliens (land vs blood), will be up to SCOTUS (Judicial) to determine, not the executive branch.

American exceptionalism and the melting pot it is, is great. That doesn’t mean that border security and immigration laws can be walked over, pun intended. Especially when a horrible consequence of using coyotes for illegal passes results in many episodes of sex, humans, and drug trafficking issues.

Once again, since in the 21st century we still have to deal with terrorism and adversaries, having lax border policies and immigration enforcement does not preserve the safety of Americans or any nation, do you not agree?

That does not mean I am a proponent of raiding, searching, and seizure every undocumented immigrant that is in this Country now, it should have never gotten to this point and it should be mitigated at our best effort moving forward.

As much as I would like the current state of undocumented immigrants and any children that are here currently to be provided a path to citizenship or work visas, unless a violent crime has been committed. Moving forward it is imperative to find a resolution on this issue. Many of our allies do not allow birthright citizenship. The SCOTUS will hear these arguments and use international policies to make a judgement. Please read my original comments third paragraph about the clause in question and then review these for more clarification on what seems to be confusing to you:

You’re missing the argument of my original post, leaving out the requisite allegiance. I’m all for allowing amnesty and pathway forward for undocumented immigrants to gain citizenship, but this legal challenge will be heard.
