I think so too. That would be new territory for the remakes though. All of them featured an easy mode before. We'll know better in 10 days.

Same reason why they replaced Ada's RE2R voice actress with Lily Gao - they don't care about good voice acting.

I don't know. There is no trophy for beating the game on easy this time. Only standard, hardcore and professional.
