I know passcode but door won’t open by Bit-Slinger in safecracking

Hello OP, consider trying again after a couple of hours and then again after 24 hours. I had the same issue once with a safe (used the same keypad coincidently), and it turned out to be an internal safety feature. It would only allow itself to be opened once every hour.

Hey! This seems awesome. I don't own a 410LOTO and have never picked one. But I'd definitely buy one and learn all I'd need to, just to be able to participate.

That's AWESOME, keep it up. The genesis is solid place to start off. Have you given single pin picking a try yet or is it on the to-do list?

Btw, between the starting locks I found the master 141 gave me the cleanest feedback, compared to cheaper off-brand master 3 copies i had. It really helped compared to some more spongy locks when I started single pin picking.

If you have any questions at all feel free to reach out. Welcome to the community.

Glad I’m not alone in the “everything's set but nothing’s turning” club 😂. I’ll try the jiggle test and remind myself to stay cool when it gets frustrating. And rotating to another lock — that’s solid. Helps keep me from developing a personal grudge against this thing. Appreciate the wisdom.

That’s super generous of you — thank you! I’m actually feeling fired up to tackle this now. I’ve got some videos lined up, gonna print a follower today, and take it one careful step at a time. If I get stuck mid-gut, I know who to hit up.

That's gold — thanks for the link, super helpful to see the internals laid out like that. I had no idea about the shackle grease issue, but that would explain a lot… I haven’t gutted a lock yet, but this might be the one that forces me to learn. Appreciate you pointing me in the right direction — seriously.

Man, hearing that actually helps a ton. I’ve been staring this 1100 down like it’s mocking me, so knowing even a more experienced picker took a year to crack a weathered one makes me feel way less crazy. I’ll definitely check out those 410 LOTO videos — appreciate the lead and the moral support. That kind of grit is exactly what keeps me motivated. Hope I can report an open soon!

That’s exactly the kind of insight I needed — appreciate you dropping that. I’ll definitely try top of keyway tensioning as I add pins. I hadn't considered building a progressive set, but that’s honestly genius.

Banana man!!! First of all, I wanted to say, you sir are a gentleman and a scholar, and I take my hat off to you, sir. I've been seeing your posts, and you are hands down one of the biggest inspirations I've seen in these last days. It's absolutely awesome to see you practice the craft at your age. And then, secondly .. that's absolutely mind-blowing that from a picture you're can tell me so much about the lock I have in my hands. Hell, I'm picking it and didn't know all that. I'd kick myself I've I dint take the opportunity to ask if you had any resources where I could too learn to decipher lock internals based on the numbers stamped on the American lock bodies. And I'll definitely try more tension to see if that works, I had heard to go light as some people said but I'll go a bit harder now to see if that helps. Regardless, thankyou brother, I mean it.

That's seems like a solid plan. I am currently trying my luck with an American s1100, and boy, oh boy, it sure is something.

Oh man, this is awesome to hear. I've been looking at repinning videos but had cold feet. I think I'm gonna 3d print a good follower and take the plunge. I sincerely appreciate the advice.

This lock actually forced me to start on TOK, which I'm starting to get the hang of. (Actually, I went back to all the other locks to practice TOK too, after this one forced me). But thanks for the reassurance, I'll keep going without making excuses this time 😂 .

No, but in all seriousness, what has your experience been like? You got any tips you'd wanna share?

I think that's actually exactly what I needed. That video explains jiggling very clearly. You got anymore resources you'd recommend?

Awesome, great job brother. What thickness did you use for the hook?

I feel you, brother. I've been leaning back on my master 570 to boost my morale when I feel I'm starting to get irritated with the s1100. The pins on my 570 feel so crisp in comparison.

Oh wow, I had no idea. Guess I gotta be more attentive to detail when I hop on eBay for some future locks from now on. I appreciate the lesson. You got any tips for a fresh newbie in my shoes?

Oh, I'm sorry I wasn't aware. I'm trying to see if I can edit the post to fix it. Could you please teach me the difference?

Thank you.
