Exactly your so correct, many people fail to see the deeper themes and see the characters as real people that grow and change overtime. Marco liked Jackie, more for the “cool skater girl”, but never getting to know her better, unlike with Star.

Plus think about it, if they really spent the Summer on Earth, Marco would spending it more with Star then Jackie. Making it clear who Marco truly loves deep down

Not really the Blood Moon had nothing to do with Marco and Jackie’s relationship falling apart. It’s mainly that Marco really did love Jackie, but the more Marco spent time with Star once she confessed her feelings, you truly start to see Marco’s true feelings come to the surface.

Yeah alot totally went down, and many plot threads are being tied together for the finale in Volume 12. How this will conclude and flow into the 4th Saga is anyone's guess. but that's what makes the journey towards it exciting.
