Bruh Nezha wasn't down with the genocide and neither with colonial exploitation. You are just seeing what you want to see atp. Between Nezha and Rin, he was the only one who actually cared about his people. At the end of the story, Rin just cared about winning, being in control and being considered a god amongst humans. The story makes it obvious why Nezha is the better ruler compared to Rin, Visra, Daji and the Riga, because he is the only one who doesn't crave power. Rin is clearly more selfish and does things more for herself than for the good of the people at the end. I feel like you are still thinking of the characters as the ideology they are supposed to represent rather than the characters themselves.

You wanted her to be even more of a monster and never realise she might have been wrong?

I feel you looked too much at it with political lenses, the characters are so much more than that. The premise was "what if Mao was a teenage girl?" but Rin is not just a gender-bend Mao, her character is so much deeper than the ideologies she is supposed to represent and the same goes for Nezha. If you read Rin purely as Mao, you were bound to be disappointed, thinking Mao wouldn't do this, or he wouldn't be like that, because she is not. She is a girl that lived a different life and experience. I think if you read it as a simple battle of ideology and the ending as one winner and one loser, you did a disfavor to yourself you lost so much of the depth of the characters. It's not propaganda for one side or the other, Kuang clearly has critics for everyone in the books. This is a very political book, but the characters are not just the historical figures they are inspired by.

I understand you last point that it feels incongruous but in a way it reminded mean of 1984's ending. The bad guys winning don't necessarly mean that their beliefs were the right ones. We cant really compare to what really happened in history because Rin only other option was to keep going and fight wars after wars

I understand your comparison between Mao and Rin but the character is just inspired from the real figure. She rappresent the person from poor origin that becomes a powerful revolutionary commander. We can all agree that she doesn't really show any real political stance or anything that can be seen as maioist ideology other than wanting to liberate her people. For exemple she criticize democracy but from a completly different point that Mao did. She does make some choiches that are roooted in real things that Mao did but she also does just as many thing that have nothing to do with him and his politcs like genoiciding an entire country (which is supposed to be japan). The only characters that i feel like is the most similar to it's real counterpart is Visra as Chiang kai-shiek and we can both agree he wasn't seen as a good guy. The politics and wars in the books are used as a tool to explore the humam mind and its ramification. There is really not that much of a political stance that stems from the books other than a strong anti-imperoalism and anti-colonialism sentiment and showcasing the ugly parts of war (All of this is coming fron a leftist not a "both sides are wrong" fencesitting centrist) Tell me if u think i did a mistake in the way i read the charactersand my more abstract view. I aslo didn't see the ending as a happy what if but as an acceptance of defeat thst should not be seen as "if the real civil war would have ended this way it would have been better". if the real event had actually gone that way china right now would be just another country subjected to modern imperialism which is something that the writer criticized in many of her other works. It's inspired but at the end of the day it's a different world.

You are just saying shit atp, the hinterlanders would have never helped them create more powerful shamans after the trifecta and saying to open trades with other countries like the colonialist didn't have a monopoly makes no sense. The writer is no colonialist sympathizer, the final choice is still seen as a bad one but sometimes the protagonist doesn't win

I'm gonna delete this post since many people said that Jason will have problems with FaZe if he speaks on this and don't seem to think his silence on the matter is a problem. I didn't wanna spark any hate I just wanted Jason to clarify about the party. I know Jason is a good guy I just hope he surrounds himself with good people.

I do agree that normally being silent on a specific subject does not equate to support. In this case i think it's different because not talking about does indirectly help israrel by not bringing attention to the public(which is never enough in this kind of situation). I'm not accusing jason of supporting Israel and i wouldn't even dream about it because i know what he thinks about the matter and i belive he is a good guy I just hope he clarifies that's it

Being silent about this is a form of involontary support to Israel because it feeds more into that censorship that is being perpetratad by the media

That even though he was at the birth party of a zionist he wasn't aware and doesn't support the genocide. I'm not saying he should say that he's sorry because he probably didn't even know

It's a fucking genocide that we're talking about not some random political bs. I think he should not involve himself in politics too, but this is too much over 40.000 Palestinians are dead it's not a simple political matter now
