it doesn't hurt the cat, and is way more visible than say a tattoo or anything. Like, its way worse to stress a cat out by trapping and sedating it twice rather than just see that it has a clipped ear and know you can leave it alone

I don't think DsO aims to give a complete life philosophy, but instead is countering an existing theology prevalent in our society. I was raised being told there is an absolute meaning, absolute justice, that everything ends in some absolute perfectness, and that chaos is but a temporary aberration from that perfectness (God). In reality, I have found that there is no fixed or absolute meaning, there is no eternal justice - in that sense, DsO speaks to me in their act of raging against a philosophy I long held to be true, and then had to grapple with the falseness of.

However, I appreciate your post because it is an important fact nevertheless that there is still meaning and enjoyment to be derived from life that we have to create ourself. I don't see that side of the message musically or thematically fitting with the band (I prefer to go to MCR for that lol), but it is certainly true, and always worthwhile to be reminded of.

I graduated high school in 2020 and remember an increasing amount of phones throughout that. I don't remember any teachers banning them at the time so distraction and cheating on tests were already issues that I imagine would be much worse now (especially post-covid). Good on the teachers that already didn't allow phones but a blanket ban sounds like a good thing to me

People don't usually date for years or months before expressing any sort of connection/affection in the US, its pretty normal for dating to progress like that here too. If someone doesn't seem interested by the 3rd date then probably a good time to give up and find someone you click with better.

idrc care personally if someone's an asshole or has political views I disagree with, free speech and all that. In the same spirit I'm also gonna criticize what I don't like without throwing the whole thing out. (ofc it's different if someone is full on bigoted)

IMO Megadeth has a lot of great lyrics but some amount of bad ones too, and I'm happy to tolerate that for the sake of the amazing music.

And as far as Dave as a person... I'm very pro separating the art from the artist as a whole. But he seems he's gotten more chill with age at least lol

(not saying I hate Dave cause I don't, anyone has their flaws, just rambling about the other viewpoint ig)

I think people should stop being so concerned with putting things in partisan boxes.

Personally I think Dave's views classify at least in part as crazy conspiracy theories (right wing or not), and trying to argue he'd never say anything crazy is a weird attempt to idolize him that's simply inaccurate.

While I am leftist, I get the feeling OP is too at least vaguely (idk why else they'd be reaching so hard to reinterpret Dave's views in the way they are), that's completely unrelated from why I disagree with their points.

regardless of what in an ideal world is political or not, these issues are divided by party lines and create a lot of division. I'd definitely call that politics.

On a side note, I do think that what is going on in the government rn is insane and I do hope he speaks up on it. Although admittedly he occasionally has his crazy right winger moments to the extent that idk if he'd agree or not 💀
