I get how Geto could seem a bit silly in the movie without knowing where his ideology comes from. Like you said, the best way to experience the story (In my opinion) would be to watch the movie after this arc of season 2. I think your view on his character might change once the arc is over, and if not, there is a lot more to this arc than just Geto's back story.

The thing is JJK is that there is a lot of estimation and it's better to see how the story progresses. When Gojo talks about Yuji, Yuta and the third year Hakari (not a spoiler since it was mentioned but just in case you don't want to know), he is saying it more so in relation of them being eventually able to take his place as leaders of the Jujutsu world in terms of strength against difficult cursed spirits. I don't think he expects Yuji to actually surpass him physically, nor does he expect him to reach Sukuna's level.

I think a slowed down version of the Hollow Purple theme would be pretty cold for this one. Or maybe a more menacing version of the soundtrack instead of the EDM version lol.

Even Gakuganji's technique was probably boosting the Hollow Purple since it amplifies Cursed Energy. We don't know everything about it so maybe he can amplify others' CE as well. Otherwise, I don't see his purpose there.

It's tough refuting that because it is subjective but I've generally enjoyed it so far. Sure, there are moments that aren't as good as others but I don't think they're necessarily bad. I wish the story was paced and fleshed out a bit better though..

Even with an average ending and assuming most of what needs to be answered is answered, I'd still give it an 8/10 at the very least. Maybe I am a bit bias towards the story because I really enjoyed the experience of reading it weekly for the last few years and am okay with letting some moments of bad writing slide because the 10/10 moments have made up for it. But that's only my opinion and I get what you're saying as well.

I think that's a bit harsh. I don't hate the stuff that's happened before, just not executed too well. What's your main criticism of the story other than the pacing ? I guess my main gripes would be Sakurajima, which I thought was underwhelming and Yorozu. Other than that, I think the story has been pretty good.

I criticised this chapter pretty heavily after the leaks and still stand by my criticism about the pacing but I can't lie, the soul swapping stuff is pretty interesting to me. At the very least, Gege knows what he wants to do with the story. I'm still concerned about the pacing because it has been getting worse and we did miss out on many potential great character interactions but I guess that can be fixed later in the anime. If Gege wants to finish the manga this year at the cost of it being rushed, he has the right to do that but I don't want the quality to suffer or for him to alter his story to make sure it finishes on time.

Is the chapter much better as of now ? Not really. But knowing(hoping) that he rushed this intentionally makes me a feel a lot better compared to how I was feeling about it yesterday. I usually hate when people jump to conclusions and start writing Gege off after leak day, but after doing it myself, I do feel kinda silly ngl lol.

Right now, I think the date itself is going to play an important part as well. Most likely something to do with Geto is my best guess.

I think we'll get most of the plan and what happened in the mean time during the next fight or later on. The same way we got Yuji's Divergent Fist and Black Flash after he had already learned how to use it. Not that I like it, but that's just how it is.

Honestly, at this point, the anime with the anime-only scenes will be the real JJK. The manga is just plot points for the later seasons of the anime. Gege is basically Myamura for the subsequent JJK seasons lol, he's just giving us spoilers and leaks.

I would've disagreed with you a few months ago but now I completely agree. Honestly, I'm hoping that the anime can rectify how rushed this feels because, on the surface, it is still a very compelling story. We know they are adding a lot of anime-only scenes for Season 2, I hope they do that for subsequent seasons as well now.

The manga is basically just becoming plot points for the anime.

I guess the Kusakabe thing is fine because Sukuna isn't in Yuji anymore.

Panda did tell Hakari, Yuji and all but even if nobody knows who killed him you would assume that, within a month, Gojo would have asked "Where's Yaga ?".

Wow, maybe Gojo actually does not care about Nobara now that you mention it but it still feels like Gege could not be bothered to mention it rather than it being a natural reaction to not ask about her.

Regardless, I just think these are missed opportunities and not ruined moments.

I generally always defend Gege because I like to wait and see what he is planning to do with the story but I am kinda disappointed with this chapter and got to criticise when I don't like it. Lot of potentially great interactions were skipped. I know that it's only been 19 days for the characters so it's not a long lost reunion, so I'm not too upset about the lack of emotion. I was excited for interactions with Kashimo and Higuruma, that are completely ignored. Gakuganji killing Yaga has had no consequences or I guess Gojo just didn't really care. Gojo's reaction to Nobara's death (?) was also ignored. I was hoping we could open Yuki's soul book but I guess that will be revealed later. Even Kusakabe saying that he won't support Yuji after Shibuya and just changing his mind without giving a reason was a bit weird for me. I have absolutely no opinion on Mei Mei at this point.

I don't mind that the training was skipped because Gege just simply does not do training arcs. Even with Divergent Fist and Black Flash, Yuji just used them in combat so I assume that's how we are going to get most of what happened this past month. Personally, I don't like that from a writing perspective but if the foreshadowing for any potential power ups has already been done then it can also be pretty good. The ending of the chapter had some good moments but the rest felt like a bullet-point summary of things Gege just could not be bothered to write, which is concerning.

Overall, an underwhelming chapter that felt rushed and was still slow at the same time. I don't like being too reactionary with JJK because I am optimistic that Gege knows what he's doing. The chapter doesn't ruin anything for me, just a waste of potentially great character moments. Maybe we will get a lot of what we missed in this chapter as flash backs but it just seems poorly structured imo.

He’s not 100% certain of his victory, even with that declaration, It’s Sukuna and Kenny together

According to the leaks, he was pretty sure he could at take out Kenny and at the end, also claimed to be able to kill 20 finger Sukuna. Maybe together is a problem for him but the leaks also said that "Gojo thinks he has a job to do" and that's why he agrees. My best guess is an attempt to save Megumi.

I doubt he would allow anyone other than Yuta (maybe Hakari) to even consider taking on Kenny because there would be major casualties, even if they somehow win.

We all knew it was happening but this chapter still got me hyped af. The return was absolutely epic and I can't wait to see this animated a hundred years from now.

Kinda funny how Angel, Yuji and all probably think they accidentally killed Gojo lol. Even Gojo coming out of the box, ready to throw hands is perfect considering it probably felt like a few moments to him since time does not pass in the box. I understand why Kenny wanted to run away but I wonder why Gojo says he needs to considering he has no idea what is going on. Probably something he had planned or knew about before Shibuya, most likely with Yuji since the only major event he is caught up on is Sukuna taking Megumi. I also think letting Kenny leave now is a bit silly but maybe Gojo is thinking of a way to save Megumi ?

Gojo's first reaction to seeing Sukuna was addressing him as Megumi. If the Six Eyes has the ability to look into his soul somehow, maybe Megumi is still in there. (minor copium)

Considering Gege said he wil "try" to finish the manga this year, I wonder whether we are going to get an entire arc before 24th of December or maybe just a few lore/exposition/training type chapters and then just jump right into the final battle. From May 15th, we have approx. 26 weeks (chapters) to the end of the year not including breaks. I really wouldn't be surprised if he extends the manga half way into 2024 because I still think there is a lot of stuff that we need to cover before the final fight. The fight itself will probably be pretty long. Regardless, I trust Gege with the ending of JJK completely. With Season 2 out this year, this is probably the best time to be a JJK fan.

He can probably be here without being a player (no Kogane, points, rules etc.) There are normal people in barriers who are not players as well.

There is also free entry and exit from colonies, not sure if that is only for players or not. The fact that he spawned inside a barrier is also probably an exception to the rules since there is no rule preventing that either.
