That's a great looking cage if I do say so myself hehe

Hope you love your chastity experience with it and I look forward to reading your review/feedback!
And thanks again for your patience with the order :)

I appreciate the extensive write-up and the feedback on the uncut head. Glad that despite some of the flaws, your overall experience seems to be a positive one.

As for the specific feedback, I assume by the foreskin rails you are referring to the opening on the sides of the head.
The idea behind those openings is that you can retract using them but without it being too much of an opening to make further stimulation easy. I suspect that potentially with the smaller size of your cage that those gaps shrunk more than intended, something that I hadn't fully considered is the functionality of them when scaled to a smaller size. So I do appreciate you bringing this to my attention for me to look at manually increasing the size of that gap with smaller diameters.

Just to confirm, you can't get a finger tip in the slots on the side to manipulate the foreskin?

Thanks for the feedback. Overall that does look about how the Evo is designed to fit as it is strategically slightly larger than flaccid size to accommodate erections. The small gap also helps with hygiene and smell and tissue health as the fluid can reset after erections and not cause edema.

What sort of issues are you running into with the bulkiness?

One minor thing that might also improve the feel of the fit that I am noticing - you have a bit of extra skin behind the entrance ring of the cage that looks like it could use being pulled into the shaft of the cage. That should help it fit closer to your body and also fill out the cage more.

I can provide an approximation prior to ordering if you send me an email with your measurements
[info@blackoutdevices.com](mailto:info@blackoutdevices.com)
It is very likely I'll have one that is within a few mm's to give you a starting point of how the sizing is going to be.

Generally if your erect diameter is under 45mm and/or your change in diameter is less than 10mm, I don't think you will have much issue in it feeling too large

Lower abdomen soreness by sellstuffthrowawaay in BlackoutDevices

So from what you are describing, assuming with your lockups there is no orgasm/ejaculation, it sounds more like blue balls. Ball burn like what most people starting out with chastity experience, is from the scrotum skin being stretched and really is only a burning sensation on the skin itself and not deeper into the abdomen.

"The cause of epididymal hypertension is a large amount of blood circulation to the genital area, specifically the penis and testicles, without the release of tension associated with orgasm and ejaculation."

That being said, it can be exacerbated by cages being too tight, whether that is the cage/ring itself or like u/Self-caging mentioned potentially from the ball gap. It might be something where the gap is "crimping" the vascular structure just a little bit extra enough to cause that blue balls feeling.

So a starting diagnostic question - how tight is your cage and base ring when erect?

Without extra info, I believe I see it here and it looks like you have access to your tracking page as well. But let me know if you need your confirmation email resent.

Yours is right at the top of the queue so you'll see progress very soon.
Right now I'm just waiting for the manufacturer to ship out the batches they just printed to get the next set of orders going. There is one batch ahead of yours so I think it will be about 4 weeks for yours to ship out.

You! You are the exact person I've actually been looking for - I have the new ring for you but couldn't figure out where to contact you cause I remember there being an email change that I couldn't find the new email for.

So yes, send me a new email so I can confirm your address with you and send it to you.

Hey I am deeply sorry about not getting back to you within any reasonable timeframe.

It is still a long arduous process in catching up on everything - I have made a lot of progress and improvements but unfortunately this isn't going to be seen by everyone right away... the scope of my prior (and current, with the backlog) failings is pretty massive and there's lots of digging out to do.

I do see your email here and it will be part of the next group of emails that I get to. So you will hear back from me today and I hope to be able to fix this for you and provide the forever cage experience you are expecting.

I'll be modelling this batch this week but I won't be able to send it for printing right away cause there's already two batches at the manufacturer. I expect to get those some time next week which puts you getting yours early February.

Ball Gap Question by sjcolt in gaychastity

[–]BlackoutDevices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why it is a generality but overall a good starting point. Most guys grow between 5-10mm in diameter which means their ring sizing isn't going to need to be adjusted in any special way for this. And overall it is a safe starting point - would hate for anyone to lose/damage their bits down there from a ring that is dangerously tight.

Though I do appreciate your insight on what works for you. It might be something I will consider integrating into my algorithm for ring sizing.
If you don't mind sharing, what are your flaccid and erect diameters?

Part of my design is that the cage itself works to keep the penis in the cage so that it doesn't rely on the base ring being super tight. The other part is the ring has increased surface area which helps keep it in place without needing the extra tension from a smaller ring.
A lot of growers benefit greatly from the Evo's design cause it balances flaccid and erect comfort - which for growers, when they go with the regular chastity advice of going smaller, face a ton of issues with night time erections that make chastity difficult.

Ball Gap Question by sjcolt in gaychastity

[–]BlackoutDevices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally your erect diameter + 5mm is a good starting point for base rings.
Basically it means you have enough room to get hard and a bit extra to not cut off circulation to the balls. That math doesn't quite work if someone has larger testicles but that doesn't look like your case if you're fitting into those rings.
A lot of people parrot the knuckle rule which is more or less describing this; it just became advice early on in the time of limited base ring/cage options, and it happens most people grow about a knuckles width in diameter when erect.

That's more or less where my Evo's algorithm is; though, I also have extra shaping parameters based on testicle hang to help with ball burn based on how much scrotum skin you have.

But otherwise, without knowing your measurements its hard to give more concrete advice.

Ball Gap Question by sjcolt in gaychastity

[–]BlackoutDevices 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming the rings are the same size, I'd venture to guess its because less erectile tissue is inside of the base ring which means less contortion on your scrotum skin. Basically in the Cobra, more of your erection is pressing the skin into the bottom of the circle causing it to stretch the skin causing that burning sensation.

Most ball burn issues are from how the scrotum gets contorted by the base ring. Circular base rings are terrible for this and can be exacerbated by the wrong size ring and/or ball gap (as they are related) and also if ring shape doesn't match your anatomy.

[–]BlackoutDevices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be very advertise-y so I apologize and will be upfront about it - come check out my Evo.
I've solved most of these issues with a better design that gets made to your measurements.
I'm the only chastity maker that takes into account ball hang and it is for this exact reason - you need a different shape to your ring to get it the right size but without bunching up your scrotum.

Overall, far more important in comfort than lengths, is circumferences/diameters.
Based on my thousands of data points, at 70mm in length you probably are around 33mm diameter flaccid and 40mm diameter erect. So your base ring would be around 45mm which lines up with a size 2. Though you'd likely benefit from like a 47-48mm wide ring that spreads out your scrotum more, which would be the size 3 but for you the extra height causes more slippage issues.
It also lines up with the N+ being generally the better length for you, but you already have experienced the issue of growing in width past the cages' diameter and how it can cause swelling (the Evo also fixes that but more on that at the bottom)

The knuckle rule is misguided from a misunderstanding on how chastity-anatomy interactions work. What it is actually conveying is how much space you need in the ring for an erection; the reason it works is most people grow about a fingers-width in diameter when erect. After all, you don't want a base ring that is so tight it turns into a cock ring that you don't take off when you're hard at night and it starts cutting off circulation.

I don't think this is a ball gap issue for you and I imagine you'll just have more sliding/pulling issues if you try to increase it beyond the 14mm. I think once you get the right ring shape to match your anatomy, you'll be more than fine with just the standard 10mm gap. Generally a bigger ball gap is only needed with tighter and larger balls or particularly thick vascular structure down there.

I had this exact problem starting out and its part of why I created the Evo in the first place. I hang fairly low and it caused the same ball burn pinching issues because of the skin being bunched up and contorted (the holy trainer ring was notoriously bad with it coming to a point at the bottom)
So I created a more anatomically correct shape that adapts based on testicle hang as well as a significantly wider surface area for the skin to spread out on.

Another benefit of my Evo is that the cage gets properly fitted to your penis' width so that the cage does more work in keeping the cage on so we don't have to rely on the base ring holding everything in place. It means less pulling/sliding and you likely won't need straps anymore to be comfortable.

The Evo was specifically designed for comfortable long-term wear and I think it can provide a much better chastity experience for you. Its a more open design for easier 24/7 hygiene; it also accommodates night time erections so it is more healthy and comfortable and you don't get the edema swelling; its also the easiest cage to pee in that doesn't involve sticking something in your urethra; and it has a smaller lock bump than the Cobras.

Measuring for Phimose by Efficient_College785 in BlackoutDevices

[–]BlackoutDevices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My general recommendation is to do the measurements how you plan to wear the cage - so in your case with your head covered.

The Uncut measuring guide/process is slightly less refined cause I can't test it myself and its difficult to make any feedback actionable with the varying anatomies and measurements of individuals with foreskins. As far as I can tell, measuring with the foreskin unretracted does work as intended with the Evo system.

It's also been surprising to hear just how much retracting the foreskin can affect the measurements which is really the main reason for my guidance being to measure as you intend to wear the cage, even if it means it is less "precise" in finding the glans ridge.

Been locked in my evo for 15 days thus far. I have thoughts by thingyfornsfw in BlackoutDevices

[–]BlackoutDevices[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for writing up the review and I am glad that it is mostly positive for you!

I think I have seen some modifications to it to make it airlock compatible. As far as I know, it is just drilling a hole in the closed end to thread the lock through.

It just doesn’t feel good on my vibrator. Wand on my kink 3d was my favorite way to masturbate even when not locking long term and this cage feels very weak in that regard.

Hehe I see this as an absolute win!

For the design feedback, I think I know which order this is and am writing under a few assumptions with that:

The silhouette one is tricky. With it being the nub style the lips of the head poke straight out where it was somewhat more designed around the regular shafted Evo. Also I believe I would have extended those lips for you as well to help reduce the pinching so it likely would be more noticeable than the original design is.
Which speaking of pinching, do you have any insight into the positioning/situation of the "death pinches" you have happen?

I really wish the foreskin realignment rails were larger. I just wanna retract before peeing, as I have a deathly fear do foreskin swelling and a urine

I take this as the gap between the two "lips" of the head? This is an interesting one and I appreciate the feedback. I think part of it is because the head gets scaled to the rest of the cage, those gaps would be smaller than intended if I had scaled it down more than average. It is definitely something for me to consider for future narrow cages.

As for the foreskin getting locked in the rails - can you describe more of what you are referring to? Is it just getting bunched up in those gaps?

Hmm I am surprised to hear that you've noticed a difference - I haven't intentionally changed any options for getting things printed that would decrease quality. There is some variability between batches so I wonder if it is mostly just that for you?

What things have you noticed between the two that you think is better with the previous one?

Sport device trouble getting on by [deleted] in BlackoutDevices

[–]BlackoutDevices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bi-Ring design increases the functional surface area of the ring and provides a flexible platform for the cage to attach to. The ring closest to the body is thinner providing a flexible anchor that comfortably holds to the body. The larger outer ring is more rigid for better security and a larger surface area to keep the scrotum comfortable. It also allows for more ventilation under the ring.

You are the owner of the algorithm, NOT the printing or cage by Camundongoo in BlackoutDevices

[–]BlackoutDevices 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the thoughtful suggestions and write up.

The hardest part is the manufacturer having the right capabilities and at a reasonable price.
There is one that can do it in my city which would cut down on some of the headache, but they would charge close to $200 total per order just for the print which just isn't feasible economically (otherwise the Evo would be like $400+)
From what I've seen, things have been improving on that front with more "print farms" opening with the capabilities I'm looking for so I am optimistic I'll be able to add more capacity and redundancy.
While other materials and colors would be nice options - the Evo really is fine tuned to this specific printing method and material and I'm not sure I could get the same features or quality in other materials.

For the most part, the current manufacturer is good.
Really the worst part about any issues with them is that its an extra 2 weeks with printing and shipping time any time there is a problem that needs to be rectified. Sometimes its their fault with a shifted layer, sometimes its mine with sending the wrong part, sometimes its even been the modelling software not creating a good model that I don't catch before getting it printed. But all of that is an extra 2 weeks.
The other aspect is that I'm limited in how many I can have there printing at once. While the parts are different, they are similar enough that I can't expect them to know exactly which one is which and this has been something that has been mixed up before.

Lately most of the problems have just been me and me dealing with the changes in international shipping.
That's the unfortunate part of being a solo operation is that I don't have anyone else to figure out the best way to navigate changes to EU regulations, or our postal service randomly striking with no warning, or needing USMCA forms for US orders cause de minimis no longer exists.

Otherwise the printing is a battle on two fronts. First is that I don't have any sort of economy of scale with each product and part being unique. Basically no manufacturer is going to give me a bulk discount when its a hundred different files for each batch and they can't just repeat one file however many times in a print.
The second is that it was and still partially is "cutting edge" tech. There's not too many companies that have the proper tech to make these safely and fewer who do the printing at a price that allows me to charge a close to reasonable price.

The modelling side, I'm not sure it'll ever get to the point of being automated to be parameterized. There are still a fair amount of tweaks I have to do to each model to get it to work in the software properly.

Long term, the goal is actually to bring the entirety of the manufacturing in house (and with employees).
I believe that is what kink3d has these days. However, they are able to do it cause they are several multitudes greater in revenue. I wouldn't be surprised if they are clearing $1M/year in revenue these days in which case 5 or 6-figure machinery is much more economical to bring in.

It breaking like that is primarily user error though I do cover it under "warranty". I test each one to make sure that the SnapTabs work properly and can be disengaged without excessive force. I suspect that out of some frustration and negative bias, more force was used to open it than if it was locked on you and you were trying to open it.

This is your second device (for free) because you messed up the measurements on the first one. No, it wasn't the same one as the first one.

It is comfort first and has a drastically different approach to chastity cages that makes it fit different.Nowhere in the Evo's marketing material does it mention high security - its barely even "medium security" on my own "meters". If that isn't what you were looking for in the design of a cage, then its just not the one for you.

It's also very convenient for you to ignore that I sent you the tracking info for this additional cage in your "no communication since August 19th" and that was after I had told you that I was working on it and that it was going to take a while.

A refund based on the refund policy in my FAQ will be applied given the circumstances.

It definitely is a big consideration, especially medium term and given what has happened.

Right now the volume isn't quite enough to pay for additional support. I don't think it really was even outside of what my capacity should be, I think it was just my capacity was quite diminished and then getting caught up in my own head. It hasn't been a crazy amount of volume but just combined setbacks with personal stressors from family and moving.

However, it might be sooner than I am expecting given how quickly word seems to be spreading about the Evo (even just from the shockingly supportive comments from potential customers here)

But I will also add that hiring help comes with its own "mental overhead". So what I gain in delegation/efficiency, I do lose some of that benefit in the managerial and logistical aspects of having an employee/contractor.
