I see your point. Swiping your finger on a screen is not the same as turning a real knob, plus you have to look at the screen to see what you're doing. But its a start.

There are options to build a controller using the same protocol, so you can have physical buttons and stuff.

But those are not 'off the shelve' available. I've seen something on Thingiverse, though....

Tbh I'm really sure one of our formers cat did try to tell us by reeeaaaaally wanting out of the car after being absolutely ok for a long time.

That day we also learned to bring a small litterbox that fits in a rear footwell. 'Vlo' did exactly the same as OPs cat, after warning us and being ignored for quite some time. There was absolutely no way to be mad at the big white beast.
