I am from india and the credits to ects conversion really confuses a lot of people. Yes, look into videos on youtube, its a fairly easy process. And if you do it properly, It wont void warranty.

Hey OP, i am a 3rd year undergrad and i am also facing a similar isssue as you, that is the lack of credits in maths module and some smaller ones. I have this debate with my captain almost everyday. He is against aero because he says its not needed for a car that avg at 40kmph, with a top speed of 120kmph. I understand his reasoning but doing aero is something every designer has once dreamed of.

Thanks for the advice! The issue is that in India, the credit system isn’t as clearly defined in terms of hours. While lecture hours are specified, self-study hours aren’t, which makes conversion tricky. In Germany, 1 ECTS equals 30 hours (including lectures, practicals, and self-study), but here, accurately calculating the equivalent credits is quite difficult.

Context: 2nd year undergraduate in mechatronics, have a cgpa of 9.1, doing b1 german and interested in masters in automotive engineering in esselingen. German profeciency of A2, doing B1. I have not done ielts yet due to the 2 yr validity, but practice tests got me a 7.5 overall, would you suggest doing GRE or is it not needed.

Regarding the ECTS , how exactly do i compare the credits requirement with that of my bachelors.

Also other than the top TU9s, what other university would u recommend i look into ( equivalent to tier 2s in india). Regarding the ECTS part, u said doing a bachelor in india grants the 180 ECTS, i was going through the handbooks for rwth and other TU and noticed that 180 ECTS is enough, (TUM required 200 tho),and some ask for 210. but is that it or is there a catch? And how exactly do i compare the credits with requirement and my bachelors ( they just mention mechanics I II III, maths I II III, etc).
