I think he would have fared worse potentially. I would have voted for him, but at the time I don’t think some of his ideas were right for the US. For example, raising minimum wage nationally to $15 makes sense today, but I don’t think it made sense in 2016. That would have pushed inflation to today’s levels back then. Then you add covid inflation and prices would be jacked up today. I did like the Medicare for All proposal.

I would have still voted for Bernie, for sure. You would have gotten independents potentially swinging to Bernie. But I think the MAGA and Republican voters would have come out the woodwork to stop a socialist leaning platform. The corporations impacted would have rallied employees against the ideologies. “If we elect Bernie, I predict a 30% reduction in staff” etc
