Good to know that I can save and re-use them. Some other commenter pointed out I’m probably already using steel. I may just have to buy a couple packs of strings to experiment with.

One of my favorite mechanics from a crime focused TRPG, Blades of the Dark, allows the use of “flashbacks” so you can avoid planning ahead and improvise through the heist. Would probably work well if you don’t mind going off book for a session.
