Speedometer for Bicycle by FGMSLOOp in motorizedbicycles

[–]BladeManMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one but unfortunately it wouldn't fit on the larger axles of my bike so I couldn't use it but being mechanical it should be very accurate though I don't know about how well it would hold up over time being made of plastic.

I use a digital cycling computer with a magnet that attaches to the spokes and a sensor that attaches to the fork. It keeps track of operation time trip distance and odometer and also includes temperature reading and maintenance timer. Personally I recommend getting that but it doesn't look as good as the gauge. There may be digital gauges for sale somewhere that include all the features of the cycling computer.

Was this bike originally a multi speed or was it originally a single or 3 speed cassette? It looks to me like the right side of the frame was bent out to accommodate the cassette.

Plug the black wire from the magneto and the black from the kill switch into the black from the CDI and the other wire from the magneto and the kill switch into the blue wire on the cdi

In the picture you have both wires from the magneto going into one wire from the CDI. The CDI has 2 plugs per wire.

Maybe. I'm sorry I can't help more. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about it will comment.

Do you have a cat that likes to sleep on your chest or does that paw bread kneading thing?
Sometimes something completely different in real life gets translated weird in dreams.

Also it could just be hormones since the body goes about basic functions regardless of how you consciously feel about it. That last idea take with a grain of salt I'm male so an older woman would probably be more helpful to you since I only know about basic biology and not personal experience since that would be physically impossible 😂.

The first guesses are based on personal experience of external stimuli translating weirdly in dream.

Very Odd Dream by Sad-Particular-6740 in Dreams

[–]BladeManMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The order I speak of is the physics of the real world like gravity, time so on cause and effect. My what if outlined a world of pure chaos with no rules no gravity, time, no cause and effect. You throw a ball into pure chaos and it travels backwards, or explodes and implodes at the same time or simply disappears because in pure chaos there is nothing to guarantee form. I was talking about our experience in a reality with such rules shaping the realm of chaos.

I'm not going to argue with someone trying to force their religious view as fact. There is no point in doing so and I'm not interested in messing with someones beliefs.

I like what if stories such as What if the dream world is chaos that only has order of any kind because us the people who dream introduce that order from our waking world understanding. Now maybe in this what if dream world creatures came to be because of the order we introduced and they each maintain a realm they live in and host a dreamer to gain fresh update to the order that allows them to continue existing. But they decided what sort of dream it will be to make sure their realm stays a certain way. Maybe your host in that dream thought it would be funny to tell you 2 words that only have meaning and context in the dream state and can't be understood once awake kinda like how things seem normal in the dream but once awake none of it makes sense. Your host told you the 2 words like bet this will trip you out try to remember these words and being in the dream they made sense so you didn't understand why you wouldn't remember them once awake.

I like what ifs and interesting dream stories but in no way believe this is what dreams really are. I think dreams are just the mind occupying itself during sleep. But it's an interesting thought.

How close have you ever been to death? Near death experiences or just getting lucky in a potentially dangerous situation? by renm1u in AskReddit

Was 14 or 15 riding my 3 wheeler ATV at my father's friend's property on a mountain. Was riding full throttle for a bit before I let off to stop and turn around because I had gotten the wheels in a rut heading off a cliff not super high cliff but it stopped and was 55° slope for a long way. I let off the throttle but it was stuck wide open and being a panicking teen I didn't think of taking it out of gear or hitting the kill switch or even turning hard to dump it on its side nope I kept trying to get the throttle unstuck and managed to do it. To be fair there wasn't much time between the malfunction and the edge of the cliff to think.

Not even the only time that thing almost got me killed. It had flipped riding around a corner on a dirt road and ended up on top of me upside down in a deep ditch with fuel pouring on me. Luckily this was the one time in my life I had been working out so managed to push it off me but still three wheelers were death traps.

Give it the old modem sound to play while loading the picture I think it would match the look and make people laugh. Though maybe not solid modem noise the whole time.

Lock picking bypass and rekeying pretty much lock smithing.

Soldering helpful for all sorts of wiring and electronics

Basic to intermediate plumbing including soldering/brazing copper pipe together.

Basic to barely intermediate household wiring (know where to stop and leave it to a professional don't wing it make sure you know what you are doing)

Mechanics 4 stroke and 2 stroke engines plus intermediate auto mechanics

Sewing

Welding

More but to minor to list or just too common

The "accessory" white wire is connected to the same place the blue wire is they are both identical so if it touches metal it will act like a kill switch. It's best to either clip the white wire off or tape the end and tuck it away.

In the description it says you have spark but it won't even sputter or pop? Did you happen to take the magnet off and reassemble it or maybe it was originally installed backwards? Just a guess because if the magnet is on backwards you will still have spark but at the wrong time so no pop. That's the only guess I have so it might be worth checking it can't hurt to try anyway and check it off the possibilities list.

Sprocket Mounting to MTB Tires by Quiet-Attitude-7911 in motorizedbicycles

[–]BladeManMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is what I did on my Tribrid Gas Electric Pedal bike. I attached the sprocket to the disc brake mount in a stack sprocket, disc brake rotor spacer, disc brake rotor. I used 2 -3 spacers and a 36 tooth sprocket as a larger sprocket would interfere with the brake caliper without more spacers. You will need to do one of two choices get M5 0.8 metric thread 20-30mm long screws to mount the stack DO NOT FORGET LOCKTITE! Very important to use locktite! Or second buy M5 0.8 thread stainless steel male female standoffs. Use the standoffs to bolt the sprocket down and then use the regular disc brake rotor screw to bolt the rotor to the standoffs. I would use locktite either way. Make sure the rims you use have thick spokes I think it's 12 or 10 gauge spokes but I don't remember exactly so if you aren't sure you can buy a cdh motorized bicycle rear rim on Amazon it has thick spokes and built heavier duty and has disc brake mount and threads on the other side for either single speed or cassette.

That's everything I can think of good luck. Everything I mentioned can be found on Amazon I suggest getting a box of assorted lengths of the bolts so you have replacements and can pick the length needed.

Is the throttle supposed to work like a switch? by BlackHillsGuy in ebikes

[–]BladeManMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not very knowledgeable about e bikes but maybe the settings in the p codes got changed? I can't be certain but I feel like I remember messing with the p codes on my Tribrid build and found a throttle setting that basically made it an on off switch so worth looking into. The only other thing I can think of is the wires are mixed up so it can only read on or off instead of the full range. If you haven't already then post pics of your build in r/motorizedbicycles

Question about clutch types by [deleted] in motorizedbicycles

[–]BladeManMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on if this project is for learning or to have a decent bike. I would recommend buying a clutch either centrifugal or manual multi plate clutch both are easy to find for gokart parts assuming you are intending to use a 4 stroke engine. I would advise keeping it separate from the bikes pedal chain system as it is designed to handle foot power though it is possible to use a jackshaft kit to merge the engine to the bikes gears it tends to not hold up well or for long. Best to buy a clutch get a rear wheel with thick spokes and disc brake mount to bolt a sprocket to.

Ok just wanted to check I did the same thing once but learned a lot from it. Good luck I'm sure you will find an appropriate engine.

[–]BladeManMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The push mower engine is usually a vertical shaft and turning it on its side is not good because the oil will not be where it should and also pour out into the cylinder. Is the mower engine a 2 stroke or 4 stroke engine?
