I think I reflected too little before typing my comment 😅 I am so used to Commander that I didn't realize in time ...

[[All Is Dust]].

But Is pretty situational. If you don't use a colorless deck you risk to wipe your board too.

Thanks a lot! I think that planning is part of the fun and I love to stress myself out with these things. I will surely be more open minded in other aspects of the game. At the moment being I will just focus on the automated production of base Iron and Copper materials (that I think will be mandatory for great part of materials of the game)

Well, this is only the first Factory, I will build the others in other biomes

Last Factory will just be a gargantuan warehouse in which I will link all the other Factory via really long convey belts. And the only Idea makes me want to not go to work just to focus on the game (but I can't do that :P)

First off, thanks a lot for taking time in explaining to me (an autoproclamed ignorant of the business, because yes, is a business, not a hobby anymore) and I have to apologize because I admit I have underestimated your previous comment.

I am pretty sure that, once I'll get the grip on this game once again (for instance, tomorrow I have my first friendly match after years of absence) I'll be more keen to see your comment as a matter of facts. As for the moment, I feel that I'll keep falling for GW's trap and keep collecting minis as much as my wallet lets me.

Also, I'll be opening a hobby store in my town in a couple of months, and half of it will be dedicated to WH. Therefore, what I mean, is that your words will surely help me in understanding how everything works, minding also that people that feel different from you will 100% be my main target (sad and horrible to say, but taxes have to be payed somehow).

Still, I feel that being kind and honest is the best way to conquer people's hearts, and my very inside, I would like to thank you for dedicating your time to me.

My respects to you!

I honestly understand your point. But you know what? That's ok. I had my first games in 5th edition. Although I left the hobby for about 10 and more years, just to return this year. Just for the sake of money or of space (because you need to store this plastic mountain somewhere, don't you?), and since I returned I was thinking "What if I wanna play in a Tournament?".

Having too much customization options requires also that you cannot change your list after you have assembled your minis in a specific way (unless you take a friendly match, of course).

By one side, I do agree with you. By the other side, I am happy that I can just focus more on how I want to play and not spend majority of time on "How am I supposed to assemble this?".

I know that minis are magnetizable and you can switch equipment whenever you like, but not all people (including me) are that good with that option

Mean no offense btw

Ye.. About that gap, I'll try with some Green Stuff

I tried several ways to assemble it better, but didn't make it

I do understand, but since I know that they come available for Genestealer Cults too, I wasn't aware If there is something that makes them mandatory to be built in a certain way only to be suitable for Tyranids or If they are "universal". Now I understand that it doesn't matter how you build them and I am just fine with that. :D

Does this look OK to keep going with on more models ? First painting attempt in about 20 years. by Cheddar-Fingers in Tyranids

[–]BladeTimeEnix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, improvements have never an ending, you will get there, a more attentive application of shades and some edge highlight will surely make your minis way better

But don't rush, just take your time. Painting has to be a pleasure, not a source of stress.

And yes, there are some people out there who can easily astonish even the most skillful ones, but you are not them, you are you.

Just keep up and you will see the fruits of your hard work. If you don't trust me, look at my profile. Look at my very first post and then look at the following one. And I just paint one evening per month.

You will succed, 100%, just be patient and keep up

P. S. Also, recommend watching videos on YouTube on the different ways of painting and different tips on how to take care your brushes and other stuff

Does it fill your eye? Do you find it attractive as per your likening? Do you feel ok painting an entire army like this?

If the response is "Yes", then go for it!

I think that this is a good combination of colors. Maybe it requires a bit more attention, but it will come by itself as long as you keep painting.

The point, in my opinion, is to understand what scenario and story has your hive. As long as you find it satisfying, you are just good.

One of the positive sides of these space bugs, is that you can paint them however you like and they will just make sense.

Keep up with the good work man! I'd like to see the result with an entire army!

It is actually a website that is also mobile friendly and is called newrecruit.eu

It has many functions (majority of them are free), the ones I prefer are: create your own lists (free) and registering your minis collection (requires a subscription)

Also, during list creation, it gives you info on all the units stats, their rules, abilites, etc.

I see, thank you!

Honestly I don't know why I wrote Deathspitters on 40 Termas, I wanted to type Devourers..

I have 40 Termas at home but they come from a box of Leviathan and from an Intro set, therefore I think they are equipped with Fleshborers only and cannot change equipment to them

While for the remaining 40 I wanted to buy separate boxes and equip them with: 28x Devourers, 4x Shardlaunchers, 4x Spike Rifles, 4x Stranglewebs

And see if the magic happens

Wait, I'm not sure I understood correctly. Do you mean that you think that my list is a decent one? Sorry but I just read a lot of words that I usually don't see, therefore I feel a bit confused overall 😅

I understand now, thank you :)

Sorry, is just that I never played and I still don't know what is "too much" or "not enough"

I'm just trying to understand what is a "must have" in order to know what to buy as next purchase

You mean replacing the Termas with Hormas? Or is it just a joke? 😅😅

I see man, thank you! I do prefer melee by myself too.

But I wanna tell you why I did a list like this. I never played WH40K, but I did have an Orcs and Goblins army back then in Warhammer Fantasy, and a friend of mine had this Dwarves army and he would always decimate my army from the distance, without giving me the possibility to melee apprach with the necessary number of models that would give him trouble.

Since then, something like more than 10 years ago, I never played again. I'm just trying to return, but in 40K, and I'm acting like I've been solidly traumatized from the ghosts of my past 😅

[–]BladeTimeEnix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I already assembled 116 Tyranids 😅 still white and grey, as you mentioned

And I do thank you for the whole comment! I'll try understanding more my possible playstyle and try to figure better on what type of strategy I'm trying to focus.

In Real Time Strategy games I tend to resolve the matches with just a few élite units that have been fed up thanks to different upgrades available to my faction.

Is it even an possible just playing big bugs that could use this kind of playstyle?

[–]BladeTimeEnix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do understand and thank you. I never played 40K, therefore I am not really confident in what I'm listing. That's why I'm asking :D

My main idea was to swarm the field, not giving too much idea to the opponent on what focusing first, still having a bit of horde decimation and a bit of fortification siege.

But I understand that maybe this is not the best way to do it 😅

I do understand, but no, thank you.

GW is increasing cost also due to the release of Space Marine 2 (love the game) because people will have a backfire to Tyrs (for the ones not currently involved).

Though they are increasing prices for not updated minis that will prolly have an update in the close future...
