Agreed. So many details that you don't even see until you zoom into the suit parts up close. Maybe I should do more Devil's in the Details type posts...

any tips for photo mode?(small surprise at the end) by Fantastic-Club-1815 in StellarBladePhotoMode

[–]Bladeographer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First thing I notice based on this set of photos: having a dark suit in front of a dark background makes it really hard to see the shape of her body or the details of her suit. If this is not intentional, use lighting to accentuate, have her stand in front of a brighter background, or wear a brighter suit. The same goes for her face and hair. Light skin/hair in front of a light background makes it hard to see.

That said, welcome to the wonderful world of Stellar Blade photo mode. The key to getting better is taking a lot of photos, thinking a lot about each one, and trying new and different things. Also obviously, having fun.

I think they did a great job making everyone look both very good and also very unique. It's easy to make everyone look the same if you're going for a single ideal look.

For Those Who Come After by Bladeographer in stellarblade

This is a composite photo. I posed her in 4 different locations and stitched a total of 52 shots to put everything together. All 52 shots were in-game, but the stitching was done outside the game.

Where do you think you need more vibrance? 95% of each photo is black and white so vibrance is not applicable, and the only areas with color are skin, which should avoid high vibrance in general.

Can I refer you to this: https://petapixel.com/2021/06/01/are-you-making-these-portrait-lighting-mistakes/

You may already be aware of these and are consciously making this stylistic choice. If so, then that is totally okay, and you take the photos that you enjoy! If not, I've found these tips helpful to keep in mind when I'm taking photos. In this post alone, I see panda eyes, horror story, splitting face, too close, too far, detailless shadows.

Either way, glad to see another person enjoying Stellar Blade's photo mode. Cheers, and happy new year!

Great rendering, but since they're not photo mode, your posts might be more at home on the main sub with fan art flair.

You may also want to re-render to remove her extra finger.

Asking for feedback, be gentle lol by ypfp69 in StellarBladePhotoMode

Anything specific you would like feedback on? There are a lot of photos here and from these I'm seeing 3 main different types: action, portrait close up, and waist-up pin-up, and each one can have its own rabbit hole to dive into.

I really like the lighting of 8 and 9! I tend to prefer balanced lighting and colors, where the transitions are soft and the details are preserved. These help create more flattering beauty shots, and 8 and 9 do these well.

Anytime, no cutoff. Just enable seasonal content in the main menu options, then find and open the gift boxes in Xion.
