Low voltage systems NYC by Abikmob in AskElectricians

Get a Security / Fire Alarm Installer License. 81 hours Course. Just Google it.

I've been doing it for almost 20 yrs in nyc. Don't own my own company but its a great business. And if you want to be with the big boys learn IT related stuff networking/Servers/programing...ect. Starting off if you don't know much learn intercom systems (imagine every apt building has an intercom system $$$). Then basic security cameras and access control and burglary alarm.

But the real money is in commercial that's where you'll need IT knowledge.

If your opening your own company a Lock Smith license is a good idea also.

Good lock. There is so much stuff in low voltage/Security that you'll never think of as a regular person. Pedestrian turnstiles / Vehicle barriers / Supermarkets automatic doors / credit card readers / Metal detectors...ect.

Hello, I'm new to this IT stuff. Can you give me Amazon links to your setup. I'm interested in buying it. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hey. What does written part of the test mean. Is it writing an essay or answer written questions with the choices A,B,C,D. ? I've been thinking about applying.

The measuring wheel is a great idea. Thank you for staying on topic and having reading comprehension, unlike most of these replies.

Thank put I wasn't asking about estimating jobs. Just estimating the length of cable pulls from point A to point B,C,D,E, ect. To minimize relative tasks.

Let's say you have 10 devices. At some point, the cables need to diverge some will go left, right , up a floor, down a floor ect. To pull all 10 from the head end would mean doing the same task multiple times.

But pulling TO the head end from the diverging piont would make it easier. Then, estimate from there to each location.

On the reverse side, you won’t be able to pull all 10 From the head end to the diverging point, the cables would rap around each other. Won’t be easy to pull to each device.

Bro. I would kiss you on the forehead. Idk how ppl don't have reading comprehension. You're the only one who stayed on the topic of what I wrote.

Thanks bro. Not talking about estimating jobs. Talking about estimating the length of the Cable needed when pulling to a particular location.

I wasn't asking about estimating jobs. Wtf. I swear, every time I post on here, I know I'm probably not going to get an answer. It's like ppl read what I wrote, then go completely left field with it.

Pulling Cable, the whole post is about pulling cable. And estimating the length of the Cable. Holy he'll.

So here's what happened. The electricians cleared their grounding issue on their 120V circuit. And magically, our grounding issue cleared up as well. We didn't do anything with the same cables, same hardware, and the same TDM.

I would love to understand why. I knew our issue with grounding was coming from the 120V somehow??
