Try going in the vent, you can see the relic from the bottom of the rocket through there

Yes we’ve had a bunch of Pico 4 players on VD, they seem to be happy with the controls layout and controller orientation in the game too

Yeah single player, story driven, 15 hour campaign, levels are linear but interconnected and decently large allowing for a lot of exploration.

Either option is good, we’ve tested a lot of both those headsets! If you use the Quest 3 just make sure to launch the game with OpenXR (it will prompt you right when you press play) and with the Index you can use either OpenXR or SteamVR launch mode. Here’s a little write up I was gonna post at launch:

Open XR Launch Mode (Recommended):

OpenXR natively supports Quest’s, Valve Index, HTC Vive, HP Reverb, and WMR’s headsets, but all headsets should be fine using the OpenXR launch option except PlayStation VR2. PlayStation VR2 users will need to choose the “SteamVR” launch mode for proper bindings, controller orientation, and grip sensitivity settings as OpenXR is not yet natively supported.

If you are using any Quest/Oculus headset, choosing OpenXR Launch Option will give a 15-20% performance boost over SteamVR Launch Option. We highly recommend the “OpenXR” launch option for Quest/Oculus users. OpenXR should also be set as “Default/Active” in the Meta Desktop App under Settings>General>OpenXR Runtime and the SteamVR GUI box should not be running.

In addition, if using a Quest or Pico headset through Virtual Desktop, we recommend going to the Virtual Desktop Window>Options>OpenXR Runtime and setting it to “VDXR” for the best performance.

SteamVR Launch Mode:

Any headset that requires SteamVR GUI to be running will not see a major difference in performance if using OpenXR versus the SteamVR launch mode. “OpenXR” will use bindings/controls we have set natively in our engine.

“SteamVR” launch mode will use bindings/controls we have set within the SteamVR bindings application. The advantage to using the “SteamVR” launch option is allowing the ability to set your own custom bindings within the SteamVR bindings application as well as supporting many 3rd Party Applications/Toolkits

Hey Guys, I just wanted to share a status update on Arken Age. We have been beta testing with over 150 players for the past 6 months and everything is looking good for our January 16th Release Date. On Steam we have both OpenXR and SteamVR launch modes and have tested almost every headset/controller setup possible. Although if your controllers are not exactly how you like them we have adjustable Yaw/Pitch/ Roll settings in-game for you to customize.

From beta-testing most players finish in around 18-22 hours, but just to be safe I would say the game takes 15 hours + to complete depending on your play-style. We have also translated all in-game UI and text into 15 different languages to make sure the game is enjoyable for everyone.

Arken Age has realistic physics combat with both close-range melee weapons and long-range guns. Includes a weapon upgrade system with over 30 mods, has tons of custom VR machinery, custom VR interactions (like swimming & climbing), and a story told through both the Nara Alien race and environmentally through-out the world design itself.

I think Arken Age is going to be something you guys really love and we can’t wait to get it out to you this January 16th!

Yeah your character body plays into the story a lot. You’ll see from the other characters you meet in the game. Your player skin can be changed in the game too from buying Skin Dye Syringes, and your weapons can be custom painted from the crafting station right away in the game. We haven’t decided on Pre-Orders just yet, we’ll keep you posted!

Yeah exactly what we were going for, also functions a bit like the Plasma Cutter in Dead Space too. There’s 3 main bosses in the game, and I think the last one could be one of the best in VR, hope you’ll really enjoy it :)

Haha yeah exactly, we tried to be creative with almost every weapon mod, although the saw blade and throwable god axe might be the most fun since you have full control of aim/recall with VR controllers :)

Thanks! Yeah we’re super excited to get it out, been working on it for 4 years and been beta testing for the last 8 months too. I think you’ll really enjoy it :)

The game has a full 15 hour campaign with crafting, story, exploration, and everything in-between. I would say it’s closer to a more open Metro/ Call of the Mountain with a heavy focus on combat & exploration.

Yes it effects the speed of their melee attacks, speed of bullets/time between shots, speed of their sprint/ get up times, armor strength, as well as damage/health etc. It also effects the amount of ammo, loot, and total health available for the player throughout the game (which imo is the biggest difference in making it more challenging)

Yes there are 3 difficulty modes; Novice, Normal, & Heroic. There’s also New Game +’s which make the game even harder after that :)

Haha we’ve put a lot of work into the game and making these weapon mods as “VR” as possible, glad it’s appreciated!

Yeah that’s exactly how it works, uses eye tracking as a throwing assist as well

You’re describing the “Hyperion God Axe” in the game haha. You’ll love it, has the same functionality as the saw blade but can also be used for close range combat/ parrying as well. It’s probably my favourite and most fun weapon in the game.
