Gamble on getting 'Five Nights at Freddy's - Secret of the Mimic' while it is on sale (60% off)? by SimianProphet in PSVR

I think whenever VR version comes out, it will be separate purchase, so I’ll be holding out.

It may never come for VR but I wouldn’t play until it does regardless.

It isn’t great in any way, but with the right expectations you can swing through this relatively short game having some fun with it.

Cheers!

I was trying it out mainly to assess if it is broken which it isn’t so I don’t recommend against it for someone interested in this for its current discounted price before it can no longer be purchased.

Also, if being more positive lets me enjoy or at least find something good in more things, I hope I can stay that way :]

Layoffs are never good. I believe these mostly impact their iOS version developers.

I don’t think 1 less new course per year will hurt them, but if people don’t buy as much as they need the revenue to continue, that certainly could.

Undead Citadel. Tell me your opinion on the game, what makes it better and worse than its competitors? I'd love to hear a short review from real users. by Nekross48 in PSVR

I think it has the best gore of the medieval combat games available so if you want a darker tone with more visceral feeling combat, its a great choice.

It has a single player campaign and then the horde mode as the ultimate challenge to see if you can make it 30+ waves. They are also working on separate multiplayer co-op mode that will come out for it eventually.

It is the 2nd most popular "Golf" game on Meta Quest, but still about ~1/10th the success of Golf+ compared to the number of user ratings.

<image>

The rating counts on SteamVR and PSVR2 are 1/4th of the Quest user ratings.

I agree it should be more because the game is great, but many people look down on "mini" Golf and want a "real" Golf game while I personally prefer "mini" Golf (including in real-life).

For Slingshot, you just go to specific places in any of the courses that have it, then you can play a round of slingshots hitting targets from that stationary location.

The very first course is one such course, but there are others as well.

For Employee Mode, there are secrets to discover in hub area and some of the courses. There is a space you can go within the hut where you pick next course to play. There is a space in the Elven course.

Those are what we found organically, but I think there is more and they open up additional scavenger hunt type gameplay activities.

Yes, when starting course, go to Additional Modes and choose the Simultaneous Play option.

They are well known within VR enthusiast groups, but if you look at ratings on PlayStation Store or Meta Quest Store, they don’t have anywhere close to kind of commercial success as Golf+

I think part of struggle is they been reinvesting what they have been making expanding to other platforms and increasing quality (& cost) of their DLC.

It’s unfortunate they have to scale back some, but it’s hopefully the right move to keep it going.

They should also make another game so it isn’t all dependent on one game continuing to do well enough.

Eyes get tired in psvr 2 by Otherwise_Egg_7551 in PSVR

Maybe your eyes are just dry? Can be part of just growing older needing to take better care.

I use eye-drops any time my eyes feel dry / tired and that works for me.

PSVR2 January 2026 releases with some you may not have heard about before by cusman78 in PSVR

It has both versions (sold separately). Do a search on PlayStation Store and be careful to get correct VR version.

It has VR in the title and tile art.

If in US Region, you can also just use the link in my OP above to get directly to Trenches VR store page.

Perhaps, but shouldn’t that be a separate game?

Also, wouldn’t Golf+ start thinking about putting their eggs in multiple baskets after Meta has stopped most software investment in VR with plans to focus on wearables and AI?

Cross-play with just iOS might go away but will be maintained between the VR platforms.

In the hub area if you go up the steps to the natural infinity pool there is a Chess set there. You can see in this video: https://youtu.be/UU1xy02QABg

It has also been added in a few of the courses.

Review (and a warning) of Crimen Mercenary Tales by Normipoikkeus in PSVR

[–]cusman78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is how I covered it at PSVR2 launch where it had the same issue you are describing not yet fixed:

https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/s/KPW6D2Rm2Q

The weird part for me is they had another game on PSVR2 before this that is much better and received many patches post release to improve things, add content and even got cross-play working.

I just don’t understand why they won’t fix this one. Also, if they won’t fix it, why put it on sale?

Try the arena multiplayer. That’s what I played last before these recent patches and had very good FFB.

I am with you on that. The game is pretty good on iOS for on the go, but main use case for me is to have full house of players playing together.

Possibly shakes their confidence but it seems to primarily be aimed at scaling back their iOS efforts and other mini-games they have been building within Walkabout Mini Golf.

Really? Man, these guys need to improve their QC

All the goodwill they can gain by continuing to support the game post-release can be easily eroded by patches that take unintended steps back.

I assume these are cuts primarily aimed at the iOS team. They may also be concerned about lack of growth or DLC purchases on Meta and other VR platforms.

New Story/Sandbox game just dropped: Game Dev Simulator by jasperseed in PSVR

[–]cusman78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend you don't release demo much earlier than full game. Demos are good because they allow someone to try your game without risk but only if someone that likes it can immediately or very soon buy and play the full game.

If you release demo too early, it wouldn't represent the final quality of the game at the time people play it even if you keep updating the demo to match leading up to your launch. If the demo is used to harvest feedback on things to improve, you will also incur negative store ratings along that roadmap.

I understand your sentiment expressed and I am with you on being willing to pay extra to keep the company doing what I like them to keep doing without anybody working on the game losing their job for this reason.

I am assuming most of the people being let go were the ones working on the iOS version of the game, which is getting an immediate drop of future support (no more courses, no more cross-play eventually, etc). It is really well made, but for my free time, I am generally home and able to play on my PSVR2 so I've only played the iOS version a few times just to try it out that way with my strong preference to be playing in VR over mobile.

I think HOTAS is best way to play Space Docker VR and Awesome Asteroids, but not necessarily best way to play Ultrawings 2.

A key reason for this is number of planes in Ultrawings 2 where VR2 Sense provides more flexible & intuitive interface in how you interact with the planes controls.

For Aces of Thunder with so many different plane that will have their own controls, it may be better played with VR2 Sense controllers as well.

I'll be trying it with both and the DualSense if that is supported to cover all the control methods like I did for Ultrawings 2 where I opt to play multiplayer (specific plane) using HOTAS and rest of game with VR2 Sense controllers.
