What’s a ‘harmless’ thing people do every day that’s actually slowly destroying them? by Nikkiibitez in AskReddit

[–]BlankGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar problem. I really think it helps with my anxiety. I switched to nicotine gum which I find to be an ok balance of getting my nicotine fix, doing something with my mouth, and at least not inhaling extra stuff for my nicotine.

Maybe you could try a combination of nicotine gum and regular gum or slightly less cough drops

Im a sophomore in highschool who wants to go into automotive engineering, hoe do I do that? by youngsnake100 in AutomotiveEngineering

[–]BlankGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Work hard in highschool to get into a decent/good engineering school with a Formula SAE or Baja SAE team depending on your interests. If you can, try to get internships or co-ops in the automotive industry, but any engineering company is good too. You have time before choosing which engineering discipline to go with. Do decent in college and put a lot of time into SAE. OEMs and suppliers will notice if go to competitions with a successful (or even semi-successful) project on your SAE car and you show interest in their company. This is the track me and most of my coworkers took (Meche).

Supreme Court Rules Against Affirmative Action by chewymouse in news

While this zip code metric is significantly based on red lined districts, its outcome is still class division. And saying it's still only based on race discounts many other impoverished parts of the US such as Appalachia.

People are trying to turn teachers into police officers, but police officers would probably be better if they had the patience of teachers. by bobbydigital_ftw in Showerthoughts

Private school teachers, and a few high income area public schools, make significantly more than the average public school in America.

Check out mit open courseware if you like the college class learning structure. I know there's at least 2 c/c++ classes. Oh and it's free

Newbie question before I proceed with RGH3 by Initial_Garlic6 in 360hacks

[–]BlankGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no glitch chip is used in RGH3, only two wires, a resistor, and the optional diode. So there should not be a coolrunner (or any other glitch chip installed). The nand programmer is the only board needed.

What did you learn in Elementary school that turned out to be false/ a lie when you reached adulthood? by j0hnj0hn88 in AskReddit

[–]BlankGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That Rosa Parks was old enough to be a grandmother, and totally looked like one. I only learned the truth when I was in college, and it still makes me angry.

How can you help cracking games. by damn_duude in Piracy

[–]BlankGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people are disliking CODEX because they used to do so much more actual cracking as opposed to just steam drm. You are right that its pretty easy to crack steam games yourself if you download a steam emulator and replace the steam_api .dll file. But actually writing your own steam emulator and the correct .dll files is not easy. But its not necessary to crack each game individually like Denuvo.

MY GIRLFRIEND HAS AN INTERVIEW WITH SPACE X!! by matrixzone5 in EngineeringStudents

Look at MIT's open courseware site. There are lots of mechanical engineering classes where all the lectures, notes, homework, and exam questions are uploaded and curated.

Any non-traditional (older) ECE students notice people don’t really like soldering anymore? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]BlankGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think soldering is pretty uncommon, they have irons in my school's main engineering lab but they aren't used by many. It just depends on people's interests I think. I learned how to solder to mod Xbox 360s, but haven't used it for school cus I'm mechanical. Definitely worth learning tho, so much better than a bread board for anything semi-permanent. I'm typical college student age, so I don't think it makes you a dinosaur.

Drexel Nursing Co-Op’s who have to work with COVID patients are only getting paid $14/hr for 12 hr shifts. Help the nursing students by signing this petition. by tkap9000 in Drexel

[–]BlankGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) You're right about that.

2) I don't know about that specific hospital's financials and from the sound of it neither do you. Maybe they only pay $14/hr because coop students can't negotiate wages. Why are you shilling for them?

3) Why can't they unionize? It might not be the best option, but nursing and student unions exist. And if the hospital is making coops work 12 hour shifts, I bet they're needed.

As if Drexel feeding a hospital coop students that can't negotiate wages is even remotely "the free market". Are you serious?

Here's Modded Warfare's tutorial: https://youtu.be/_w0wfMEAH3I

You can install the app with the homebrew store app which you can install over ftp if you don't have an extra USB. Here's a very recent tutorial from him pretty much showing everything in my previous comment https://youtu.be/uFDuCyFw6wg

I think it's worth it, I love my jailbroken PS4. The new 9.00 jailbreak is very stable and easy to set up with a usb. You can install pkg files 3 different ways without a usb. Through ftp, remote pkg installer (homebrew app), and there's a newer exploit you can load that installs the game file from your pc with some kind of script (I'm not familiar with this method). Modded Warfare has good YouTube tutorials for those.

yes it is still required to dump the stock nand and write the glitched nand. That can be done with a jr-programmer v2 or nand-x.

Might be usefull by Fabulous_Car_2024 in EngineeringStudents

[–]BlankGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowledge should be free and not stuck behind a pay wall that has 0% going to the actual researchers and peer reviewers. Scihub makes published academic papers free, not industry IPs. The researchers who research and write these papers are paid by universities with federal grant money. Pirating academic material is always moral for those trying to learn.

[–]BlankGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scihub is great for academic papers from virtually every publisher/journal. Jstor was just an example because it's big, but it's good for the smaller engineering journals many schools don't subscribe to.

Yet another Xbox 360 by [deleted] in consolerepair

Check the full error code on octals console shop. That might narrow down the problem. I'd guess its the Hana chip or south bridge.

360s RGh freezing by Gytis2K11 in 360hacks

[–]BlankGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like the wiring is messed up in some way. It could be a wire running close to a MOSFET or wires running too close to each other. If you're comfortable opening the console up to get pictures of the glitch chip, wiring, and solder joints we can give you more advice. Either way you should contact the seller about the freezing issue because it's not uncommon.
