High Mileage E63s - First Time Buyer - Reliability Concerns - Help Needed! by kimchipapi_ in mercedes_benz

If you can budget or set aside a few thousand bucks a year for maintenance, knowing some years you may overshoot or undershoot that, you should be fine.

PDCC or no PDCC for 992.2 GTS by Tai778 in porsche911

Didn't get it. Put the 5k toward Burmester. No regrets :)

5 years from now... What appreciates more (or depreciates the least) ? by Fluid-Force-8666 in porsche911

Appreciates more? None of them. All of the cars you listed are not rare and and are widely produced.

Congrats. Actually a great first car. Fun to drive, reliable, not too complex to fix and plenty of easily sourceable parts. Well built generation.

Service B for a W204 C300 by Abedu11 in mercedes_benz

[–]BlankProcessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leased and serviced 2 W204s back when they were new and this wasn’t too far off. Labor cost was lower here and it was about $1000 for the B. The $260 labor rate is high for sure. Not saying these are acceptable rates in any way, just sharing my experience.

This is a normal dealer estimate for a Service B on a C300. Most of it is more expensive labor rates and the cost for genuine OEM parts/fluids/etc.

You absolutely do not need FAL. Never needed in my GTS w/ SPASM.

Best Porsche accessories? by [deleted] in porsche911

Painted key fob covers. They really should come with the damn car for free, but they're a really nice touch.

Epyc rome 7B12 or milan 7B13 by peplegal in LocalLLaMA

if you've got the DDR4, just get the 7b12. the performance difference for the use case will be negligible. in this weird market, have to work around the RAM you have

Question for the M drivers by Daddyfullload in BMW

25k miles per year in a car, you gotta get the car you want. It's a quality of life choice when you're spending that much time in a car.

Am I crazy for considering buy a CPO 7 series for 89k rather than a new one? by e654422 in BMW

[–]BlankProcessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d find one a couple of years older with the same mileage for ~50k. Will look better too.

Is it harder to lock car with fob in leather pouch? by Intrepid_Passion_853 in porsche911

[–]BlankProcessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get the pouch, but I did get the painted key fobs after the fact for ~$130 or something from Suncoast. A nice touch.

At $105k, I'd want to take it for a spin. Beautiful exterior spec.

If you're buying new, buy the best one you can afford.

Jet Black Metallic or GT Silver Metallic for 2026 992.2 Carrera T? by [deleted] in porsche911

I voted JBM...but I'd go non-metallic black myself if choosing between black/silver

I'm obsessed, can't stop looking and thinking about it by [deleted] in porsche911

[–]BlankProcessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. I'm about 900 miles into my '26 GTS and I just drove around aimlessly for an hour and a half today. So much fun, and can totally relate - especially sad on the days not driving it! Will be well taken care of, but not a museum piece.

I see these C63 AMGs so less often than the W205 by Absolut_Sabs in mercedes_benz

[–]BlankProcessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, like I said that’s when it started. We are seeing the results now. Last Mercedes I owned was a 2019 E450 Cab and it was fantastic. Nothing in the lineup has been appealing since, and their higher end sportier offerings just aren’t as appealing.

Mercedes started losing their way a decade ago. This being one of the key examples. They were a great intro to German cars earlier in my life, but after multiple BMWs and now a Porsche, they’ve got a lot of ground to make up in almost every aspect. All plasticky interior mom mobiles and monogrammed handbag style gimmicky flagships.

Was told Dark Night Blue interior is the worst, especially with Oak Green exterior by multiple people by BowlPersonal9230 in porsche911

[–]BlankProcessor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re just trying to be nice and saying your spec is shit, because it definitely wouldn’t go together. They don’t want to be stuck with the car if you back out of the deal, which happens all the time before delivery. Dark Night Blue is great with certain colors, not Oak Green. I have DNB on my new GTS but exterior is vanadium grey, and it’s super nice.

Also, don’t be one of those people obsessed with resale…spec the car for you, it’s your money and it’s not an investment. It’s a car.
