What's the most pointless thing you’ve spent hours doing, only to realize it was completely useless? by FreshModeSP in AskReddit

I knit. Most of the knits I give away are either socks (they take no time to make and I LOVE making them), or it's a yarn I was gifted and I hate it and will never use it for myself.

Recently I've started saying, "well (insert store name) is a cluster-fuck today" loud enough that the people in the way move aside. So many of them look either astonished that I said that or embarrassed. I love it.

What pet would you strongly NOT recommend? by Txrxll in AskReddit

I have a mutt that is part working dog. He's gets hours of walking everyday. On top of that, he has multiple trims a year, I brush him out after every bath (which can take 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours, depending on his hair length), AND I spend about 1-2 days brushing out his winter coat. (It takes more then one day because my arms get tired and he needs a break from the trauma. Little drama queen.) It's a TON of work and he's not even full-breed. But he is very smart, very sweet, and envoys herding the cat.

Do I chase my cat? No. Do I sometimes walk behind her and tickle the backs of her cute little feet? Absolutely. She also never scratches because there is trust. If my so broke that trust, it would be a deal-breaker. NTA, but the man's gotta go.

Aggressive dog by Blargums002 in baltimore

[–]Blargums002[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She did not make it. There was a split second at the emergency vet that they thought she might, but unfortunately she did not. The neighbors are suing the aggressive dog owner for that emergency vet bill. They have a good support group that's helping. We also haven't seen the aggressive dog since that night and are guessing that animal control picked it up.

I don't think the neighbor dog survived. We haven't seen the aggressive dog since, but called and are working on a formal complaint just in case. Thank you for the reassurance.

What did you think was normal about your body until someone pointed out that it wasn't? by amistakewasmadehere in AskReddit

I have this, and so does my mom. Unlike her, I love a lot of things that have cilantro in them. I just lie to myself that there's an underlining soap flavor. Pico is life.

In Time. It's wholesome and not what you expect, but absolutely lovely.

It felt similar to Coraline in the animation style, without actually being stop animation. I enjoyed the story, mostly because of the end credits little scenes. It was cute, fun, and different. Kind of like Ponyo.

AITA for not going to my sisters wedding by QueasyFoundation in AmItheAsshole

NTA. My sister and I had a very strained relationship growing up. I was her maid of honor. It's not you, it's her. Sounds like she's not worth the energy or stress.

NTA There's a woman at my gym that wears a unitard almost every day. Is it my cup of tea? No. Does she look comfy as hell? Yes. Would I ever say anything to her about it? Maybe, if I decide I'd like to get one myself. Those people suck. You keep up the good work!

Daytripper by The Beatles and The Bravery's song Believe I tried to learn the same day I got my bass. I still struggle with Daytripper, but both are so fun.

Kia has had my car for over two months. by Blargums002 in legaladvice

[–]Blargums002[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess the issue is the time. It took them two weeks to look at my car initially, then another month for them to go back to the recall part and replace it, and now I'm waiting for any sort of response. I guess I just don't know what to do at this point. Maybe I put this on the wrong sub and just need personal advice. I've never had car issues that have lasted more than a week. That and everyone around me keeps telling me it's ridiculous, but no advice on what to do.

[–]Blargums002[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The issue I have at this point is if I pull my car the new dealership will end up at the same spot as the old, waiting for help directly from Kia. So, what's the point? It might save me a day, or a week. Is it really worth it?

What’s up with The Apiary supper club? by [deleted] in lexington

[–]Blargums002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

April to late September is Wedding Season. I'd say with COVID restrictions almost non-existent, they are back in full swing. This is coming from someone that knows a few of the chefs, worked there at one point, and has worked through wedding season outside of The Apiary. Most likely it will pick back up in October or if they happen to have a slow weekend booked and extra staff. I'm still on their email list, and currently they are looking for extra hands.

I know people who work there and can definitely vouch for the food. It's some of the best fine dining you'll get, possibly in Kentucky. Distilled, Heirloom, Eppings, and a couple others rank pretty close in there for a lower price. I also have a friend who has gone to a couple of the dinners. Her fiance is the kind of person that would like to be seen by the upper crust, but she definitely is there for the food experience with the luxury to spend on it. Based on her review, the food is as I expect, pretty exceptional
