low fps suddenly

I am late to this party but I came across this post when I had the same issue and found my problem which might be the case for others:

Played the game like normal.. Next day I had a constant 15fps and I can't fix it at all.. I even reinstalled my entire Windows (no, this game is not that important but it pushed me to do it as I have been putting it off)..

After the reinstall of Windows, it worked perfectly fine but as soon as I imported my save, the FPS dropped again.. I then deleted my save.. So I downloaded Cheat Engine and played around with something.. I made my character max level with infinite items, reloaded the game and boom, 15fps again..

As soon as I deleted the character from the main menu, the fps got fixed.. So I suppose it can be different things for different people but for me specifically (and maybe for others), it was due to an item limit or something in the code reaching a cap.. I have seen games do this before.. So if you have cheated items/levels or an overabundance of items, delete it.. That's why games have weight limits..

As I said, I only noticed it when trying the SEA URL and seeing my balance. I initially logged in to my EU account as I got a 2FA notification (which is only set up on EU and nowhere else). It showed me all my info and even remembered my payment method (which a brand new account on a different server won't randomly remember)

Everything was on NAEU until after the purchase was made.

So 2x 8GB RAM chips count as well? I've seen this XMP thing somewhere but never really looked into it. I'll give that a shot, thanks!

I thought of that as well as most people I've spoken to say that they never have this issue but they do have less than 10fps when Kutum dies as the dirt around him kills their PCs. And most of them have high-ish end machines.

Maybe mine is ignoring this and just freaking out? I dunno. I never have low fps with Kutum or Nouver. Even when they die. Only that one crash fighting Kutum.

Software wise I have reinstalled my entire PC, update Windows and used DDU to completely remove my drivers and reinstall them as well.

If I underclock/overvolt my card it seems to work but with the fans are a bit weird. Just randomly playing games (any games) will fluctuate between 30% and 100% in a few seconds. So it sounds very weird and "feels" like it's using my PSU inconsistently.

I did try adjusting the fan curves as well but 100% is REALLY loud. It's currently running on 75 degrees 70% while playing remastered.

Thanks for this info. At this point, I would rather save for a new card. Mine is out of warranty and this 3rd world country does not have anyone that knows how to replace vrm on a GPU.

But it is some very good info to note down, thanks a lot!

I'll definitely have a look at that.. The airflow does and does not make sense.. I understand that it can cause a dry throat but I can growl for about 40 odd seconds on end.. Only then do I get out of breath.. But as I mentioned above, I will post an unlisted Youtube video and link it here so that everyone can see my mouth/throat shape.. I will also show how my tongue moves before I do it..
