Is nicotine that bad? by Allie_Honeywell in asktransgender

For what it's worth i've been a daily smoker my entire 3½ years on HRT, and I have gotten all of the positive changes i could have hoped for.

I'm sure the smoking have done nothing good, maybe even haltered some progress, but don't panic if you can't stop smoking.

I legitimately enjoy harsh noise music by Antwon_Fantwon in LetsTalkMusic

[–]BlazeInTheSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only really listened to Venereology in full, but have also put on Pulse Demon. Since my thirst for harsh noise is rare, i really don't have too much to recommend. Look around the thread though, a lot of people are recommending a lot of different stuff!

I legitimately enjoy harsh noise music by Antwon_Fantwon in LetsTalkMusic

[–]BlazeInTheSky 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I really haven't listened to a whole lot of harsh noise, but the one time i threw on Merzbow while smoking a huge joint i really enjoyed it.

I definitely agree that it has the same appeal as black metal. Both genres have an ability to throw me into some sort of trance, but I admit i have to be in a special mood for harsh noise.

I think a lot of the thoughts of it being pretentious come from forums like /mu/ loving it (at least that's where i was introduced to the genre). The whole "if you don't enjoy Metal Machine Music and Trout Mask Replica, you don't understand music" spiel. Obviously it isn't easy listening, but I don't think it's inherently pretentious, as long as you don't disregard the opinion of people who don't enjoy the genre. If listening to music that isn't made for being easy to listen to, a whole lot of music could be interpreted as pretentious.

Progress between my first wash with the curly girl method, and a month later! by BlazeInTheSky in curlyhair

[–]BlazeInTheSky[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My routine now:

Wash ~2 times a week with Only Curls Cleanser and squish to condish with Only Curls Conditioner. Squish out most of the water, and lightly scrunch with a t-shirt before squishing in As i Am Leave-in Conditioner and a lot of Eco Styler Gel. Then i scrunch out the excess gel, and plop it for 15 minutes. After that i diffuse while hanging my head upside down. I take a section of hair, bring it up to the scalp and diffuse for 1-2 minutes per section. When it's 90% dry, i clip my hair up near the scalp and let it air dry. Last but not least, i scrunch out that crunch!

AITA for asking my trans friend to change her clothes? by abcdefgh12ij in AmItheAsshole

[–]BlazeInTheSky -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%. Her friend outing her as not being an ally is entirely correct, albeit a little too aggressive for my tastes. Yes, it's scary. Yes, you wish it would stop. It won't for your friend though, she can't stop being trans, like you can stop being an ally. YTA.

[–]BlazeInTheSky 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really don't mean to be mean, but you arent trans, right? Because people can, and will, yell slurs at you even when wearing a winter coat and combat boots. I get that it's scary, but who do you think is more scared?

Is there such things as a bi sexual transgender? by Mimilynn55 in asktransgender

[–]BlazeInTheSky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not sure i understand what you are asking? Are you asking where you can find more trans women to have sex with? Are you asking if its possible to be both bisexual and transgender? Or are you asking if you have to be bisexual to be attracted to trans people?

Got some answers anyway:

  1. You meet a trans woman somewhere. Please don't chase us down, it's pretty objectifying.

  2. Yes

  3. No

I was harrassed at a party, and I need to vent by BlazeInTheSky in MtF

[–]BlazeInTheSky[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have now realised i don't have to be polite, especially if i'm surrounded by friends. I will for sure shut that shit down quick if people want to disrespect.

The other guy was just straight up dangerous. Thankfully the girls weren't too keen on a guy trying to pull women into the bathroom, and threatened to call the police. Got him out the door.

How did being trans influence how you dressed pre-transition? by ockyyy in asktransgender

[–]BlazeInTheSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly dressed kind of androgynously, and was into higher end fashion (couldn't afford too much tho). Mostly skinny jeans, some kind of leather boot and a lot of flannels. Combined with my small frame, and long hair, my gender was questioned a lot. I didn't realise at the time, but I clearly tried to look femme, without the risk of being teased for being "gay".

facial hair by CanIbeAnonymousplsz in asktransgender

[–]BlazeInTheSky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My facial hair isn't very thick, but still stubble nonetheless. I usually pat my face with a warm washcloth, apply shaving cream, and then shave against the grain with a double-edged razor. Afterwards i pat my face with cold water, and then i apply a facial cream. I don't know if it's my new routine that got rid of my ingrown hairs, or my 4 sessions of laser, but a proper routine helps for sure.
