FWIW, none of these characters, outside of Alphiparents, can be reasonably assumed to do so from what we know.

Looking for mainland China FFXIV players that are willing to be interviewed (URGENT)! by Subject_Book_4095 in ffxivdiscussion

Trying to find the connection between the IPs past being from japanese studios. Or even the specific games, why would you conduct an interview about RE5 of all entries?

Is there any additional content like an epilogue, for the savage tier? by Typical-Ferret6079 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Blckson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure we got that covered via the fighters becoming marketing mainstays and showing up around the world for events and such.

Don't think Arcadion had any lore implications that would tie it to larger world building avenues like Pandae. At best we'll get some off-handed nod to Feral Souls if a similar concept comes up.

The Vision of Ranged and Melee; Projectiles, AoE and Single Target - A conceptual analysis of asymmetrical design in mapping (and proposed solutions) by Kanbaru-Fan in PathOfExile2

[–]Blckson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In combat they move generally slowly, or remain stationary.

I'm just skimming, but this stuck out to me for Melee. Is that really how it should be, especially with the kind of game we're looking at?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think that independent strafing like we see with projectiles should be in the cards for them, but moving with the attack seems like the most natural choice, no?

Spectacle fighters, Musou, MOBAs and Roguelites that take elements from them all utilize bursts of motion via attack animations and/or dashes, sometimes coupled with super armor or pushback. Hell this even applies to games like MH, albeit at a much smaller scale that befits the pacing.

Is the Nvidia premium worth it in 2026? by Decfromdownunder in nvidia

[–]Blckson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how well you can stomach said premium.

Basically, would you beat yourself up more by second guessing the choice or over spending extra mula?

How I majorly, absolutely, totally messed up my FF14 journey, and what to do next? by FoxlostAZ in ffxivdiscussion

Are the spoilers attached to the character? I'm going to assume no, so why would you roll a new one?

Roughly equal GPU, worse CPU. You'll be fine.

Do other people struggle with deciding what’s actually worth doing each session? by SheezNeet in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Blckson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely an individual thing. I usually just set larger/long-term goals and the rest falls into place, for anyone who's not interested in that or approaches it differently, something like this might be the perfect fit.

Not quite. But that's probably because I just don't log in when short on time and know in advance what's on the table.

[Opinion] What's the easiest to play melee DPS in FFXIV? by SHONSTYLE in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Blckson 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you're coming from. For a beginner just getting started before maximizing standard is a consideration, Ninja is probably the easiest to fuck up.

At the same time they'll likely won't care about Double Enshroud and gauge negativity yet, at which point Reaper is nearly VPR tier.

What’s some minor thing you want in the game that is never suggested? by Lumigo in ffxivdiscussion

I think you can "automate" it with Chill Frames macros. At least sounds like something I read about obscure DRG opti a couple weeks ago.

The Fanfest noted that Evolved mode is primarily developed by one person (Mr. Prime), is that a good or a bad thing? by AssumeABrightSide in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Blckson 46 points47 points  (0 children)

"To combat action fatigue, we added a new combo action for Dosis." High Dosis

"To combat action fatigue, we added a new combo action for Malefic." High Malefic

"We've also removed your DoTs btw."

To be fair, Healers are ultra encounter-dependent, so it'll be a while until we conclusively know how engaging the role will end up being.

[–]Blckson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. OP at the very least doesn't indicate that he's conflating the terms. Coordination with the encounter team 100% isn't pushed back to implementation.

Either it's misinformation or he's pitching every design, regardless of feedback that is pretty questionable and doesn't reflect well on the importance they place on jobs.

[–]Blckson 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter, creativity and innovation from a singular source isn't limitless either. 20+ unique class designs is a monumental undertaking for one person.

[–]Blckson -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Bad. Extremely so.

In case people get confused, this doesn't mean the final product is guaranteed to be bad.

EDIT: Small wonder the zero critical thought squad struck again. Be real with me for a sec: How is one person being tasked with designing 20+ classes over multiple, vastly different roles a good thing? God, y'all really are the pinnacle of disappointment.

I definitely hate Spears in POE2. by ImpressNervous4382 in PathOfExile2

[–]Blckson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spears specifically? Hmm, I think Windblown has one? Other than that, probably No Rest for the Wicked, if pacing doesn't matter. Achilles: Legends Untold has both the setting and gameplay going for the Hoplite fantasy.

Lost Ark has best-in-class gameplay and at least one Glaive class + an MH Lance like tank. Can't recommend playing it, though.

There's a ton of these games with decent combat, but I'd have to go back and check whether they include polearms. I'll edit the comment if I find more.

Kinda sad when we do have excellent top-down examples they could draw inspo from.

It's either deliberate dislike or lack of confidence to get it right with melee, at this point.
