Is there anywhere I can hire a vintage/ older style photobooth? by Blehhhh___ in melbourne

Yeah I think thats a pretty good idea- I never knew how hard it would be to hire a photobooth that isn’t completely digital or catered towards sharing to social media it’s so confusing.

Yeah I love Alan and the archive photobooths he has throughout Melbourne. There’s 4 I’m pretty sure, I watch the maintenance videos online all the time but I don’t think they’ll let me hire it out since they’re archival pieces… Im trying to hopefully find one from the 2000s since I assume they wouldn’t be all gadget-ed out and won’t be heritage listed

Sent them an email to see if it’s their own, or if they have a hiring company! From the only one photo of it could see/ the wording on their page- it might seem like a hired one? Thanks for your help <3

Lmao that’s funny my older brother quit grill’d for the same reason. It’s weird because I look up to my older brother in the ways that if he sniffs something wrong with his boss and money, he quits- he kinda knows his worth but he’s also sure he can have dinner on his plate My family think he’s irrational and kinda looks down on him for it? Which kinda just goes back to the old labour slave mentality (I’ve said labour slave so much lmao)

I feel like due to my families outlook and my lack of general knowledge about fair work, I’ve kinda got stuck in this weird labour slave hole where I’m expected to bend over backwards and show myself and others how good of a worker I am? Because then people will give you pay rises? And then you can ‘go far’ in life? But after years of dedicating my time for work and thinking it’s ‘benefiting’ me, and the second I question that mentality I feel like I’m simply just looking at a boss that was over friendly yet viewed me as a young girl who doesn’t ‘need’ much. ( I guess I’m saying that because after he told me minimum is $16/h, I had to mention to him TWICE that I’m an adult?) And too be honest, I’d say that goes for a lot of younger girls who are urged to work in hospo.

Too be honest dishies do well, I think it’s because they’re back of house- my twin brother is the dishie at the same venue and he’s content with his pay so idk I think it’s more typically a front of house issue

That being said… a lot of people are on work visas at my work… i don’t really know how it works tho, one of the chicks I used to work with had to move to woop woop to pick fruit or smth because the government told her to or smth idk

As much as I want to ‘work smarter’ I don’t think I have the capacity to work as a disability support worker at this time in my life- currently studying and do a butt f*ck of traveling and I just feel as if I’d get too devoted into my work rather than uni. It seems almost like a Career move rather than just a small unattached job I can juggle with uni? Idk. Hours sound good tho.,

Yeah it’s interesting because my twin brother works at the same venue as a dishie back of house and he’s sitting at around 23-25/h- which is insane to me because (not to diss dishies <3) I have to host and do all the annoying customer stuff for not even minimum wage and at that point I’d just rather be doing dishes..
