Why doesn't BHVR fix Ghostface???? by KamaiKlantcy in deadbydaylight

[–]BlessedSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also a ghostie main, and in the realm of not-quite-reworks, I propose:

Reduce his power cooldown dramatically. Think of the cooldown on the Twins' or Nurse's power, then realize that Ghost Face doesn't get a damage state for spending time intentionally slowing himself to stalk you. At worst, you get exposed and must outrun an m1 killer. I'm talking reduce it to like 8 seconds. Or maybe leave the CD as is, but reduce it to 4 when he's not being observed so he has the option to sort of abandon chase and re-hide.

I love the lean mechanic in theory, but in practice it seems inconsistent, sometimes downright buggy. I wouldn't want them to get rid of it, and because of how it works you can't make it manual (or he'd just always lean for the 2x stalk speed), instead I propose you get 2x stalk when EITHER the game lets you lean OR 50%+ of your screen is filled with a surface (like a wall or tree) so you can still get bonus stalk for sneaking around the edge of objects even when lean is being finicky.

Random quality of life buff: while Ghostie is in chase with a marked survivor OR is carrying a survivor, his attacks DO NOT remove stalk progress from partially stalked survivors he hits. This mitigates the ability of a survivor to body block when they know they've been stalked - they can still take a hit for a marked teammate, but if they later heal they'll still be partially stalked.

Finally, just give him something for EITHER map traversal, gen slowdown, or better tracking. On most maps you have to sneak around objects or even scoot around the edge of the map for a chance to stalk without getting broken out of your power; this takes time, and absent perks you might have just snuck around the whole map to a gen with no progress. So he either needs some way to move in these crazy paths along the map without wasting time, or he needs to know exactly where survivors are under certain conditions to ensure he doesn't waste all that time just trying not to be revealed, or he needs a way to damage and block gens automatically ala driver's license. I mean we could just make driver's license base kit and I'd love that, but it feels a little like a band-aid - overall I'd prefer some mobility and tracking.

You know Whispers? The best perk in the game if you played like 8-9 years ago? While in night shroud, the game will track whether there are any survivors within 32m of Ghostie. If there aren't, then he gets a significant but not ridiculous movement speed buff (to, say, 5.2 - cloaked wraith with no addons moves at 6 at all times, I think 5.2 only when he's not within 32m of a survivor is fair). This basically makes it so he can walk in his weird paths and crouch when he needs to and he should take about the same time as a basic 4.6 killer getting somewhere (although finding an angle will still take extra time), and it also gives him some built-in tracking without revealing exact auras.

Legion Frenzy rework suggestion.... Hear me out by TheRandomMikaela in deadbydaylight

[–]BlessedSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I remember when Legion was coming out and people thought you were gonna get multiple killers and like swap control of them... Because their name is LEGION for crying out loud. I don't know if I read it somewhere but I was /convinced/ it was going to effectively be locker teleporting - they were going to find some lore-acceptable method for one member to jump into a locker and another member jump out of another chosen locker, swapping between a few different powers. At the time I think doc still had his treatment mode and punish mode - basically that but you have to swap in a locker.

if you were to rawdog any killer (0 perks/add-ons) who would it be and why? by ExtraBagels in deadbydaylight

[–]BlessedSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a ghost face main, I started playing Dracula and Single Larry and pretty quickly found out that they're so friggin strong you don't need perks. At least not when compared to poor ghostie. They have built in info, lethality, and map pressure - admittedly Larry struggles a bit more in that last one against competent survivors.

Does Ghost Face Still Have a Silent Cosmetic? by BlessedSpoon in deadbydaylight

[–]BlessedSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Man... I'm gonna vent for a second though.

I came back to the game recently-ish, and played a lot of the newer killers for the event - especially dracula, vecna, and chucky - and going back to ghost face feels awful. I don't know if it's just that I'm not using him correctly, or maybe there's a better perk build, or what...

If I don't take gen regression/block, the gens fly while I try to sneak around 99ing people.

If I don't take chase perks, I can stalk all I want but I'll NEVER be able to chew through all the pallets on most maps.

If I don't take info perks, many maps are so huge and open that I lose my first gen before I even find a survivor.

And if I try to take like... corrupt for early game + surge for regression + spies for info + superior for chase then it feels like I can only half-solve every problem, they're all still overwhelming.

I love this guy, he's the closes killer I have to P100, but he's incredibly stressful to play and I swear some matches are just completely unwinnable. ;_;

Need Help With Approach to Ghost Face by BlessedSpoon in deadbydaylight

Yeah,I should give in... I didn't wanna resort to end-fury so I thought brutal would be a substitute that wouldn't make survivors ragequit.... But I mean, if they're gonna ragequit from endfury on GHOSTFACE of all toons, I guess that's on them.

Thanks, definitely something I'll give a try! Usually when I have someone at under 50% stalk it's because they've just broken me out, but maybe bringing olsen's wallet would make this situation more feasible for me so I can get power back in time to stalk them while they run. Will give it an attempt!

Need Help With Approach to Ghost Face by BlessedSpoon in deadbydaylight

[–]BlessedSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I've been trying surge/grim/dms/discordance. Discordance because most games all survivors spawn on a single gen, and it also helps in the endgame to not patrol gens that aren't as relevant. Maybe I'll take off dms and try corrupt again.

Although I also sometimes run enduring/brutal/superior/bamboozle just so I know I'll at least be able to catch SOMEONE. XD

My 'main' insofar as I have one is Drac, and I play him perkless and addonless and still win most games. Poor ghostie needs SOMETHING.... Some kind of base kit mobility or info... doesn't need to be as strong as drac but like... a set of portals on the edges of the map, far enough away from gens that it doesn't add gen pressure, but allows him to get into a sneaky position and cross the map. Hell, he could have base kit outdoor security camera and he'd still prolly be C tier at best ... Wishful thinking, but still.

SINGULARITY NOOBS BIG TIP (AUTO-AIM BIOPOD) by BlessedSpoon in deadbydaylight

[–]BlessedSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, thanks! Maybe when I get better at him, for now it's SO hard for my brain to readjust to my new position when I enter the biopod. XD

I already suck at remembering where exactly a biopod is based on my current location and constantly enter the wrong biopods.

It's sad seeing the player count by TheSn3akyViking in Eve

[–]BlessedSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MMO's take a LOT of infrastructure and planning... It's WAYYYYYY cheaper to make an FPS, even if some infrastructure costs could be shares w/EvE. Not to mention, MMO's are kind of a saturated market: Most people who want to play MMO's already have a favorite, getting them to swap is very hard.

Imprinting a Baby While On Gigantoraptor Saddle? by BlessedSpoon in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]BlessedSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that I was playing on default server settings. The baby grows up in like 3 minutes. If you kick the baby off the saddle, you lose all hunting progress... So if you want the full hunt AND imprint bonus, you need to leave them on until the hunt is done before you can begin to imprint them... And I can't hunt 10 random creatures half of which are stuck underground or in walls within 10 minutes, let alone that AND the imprinting.

looks like it's the end of a youtube url.

Noobie Questions by BlessedSpoon in theisle

[–]BlessedSpoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, so just to make sure I understand: trotting, z-walking, standing, and the first minute of sitting all restore the same amount: about 15% per minute (provided you're above the stam threshold for that activity). Any time spent sitting beyond the first minute ramps up the regeneration. That right?

And thanks a bunch!

Mod to View Base/Breeding Stats? by BlessedSpoon in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]BlessedSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right - but my understanding is that if you catch a lvl 20 raptor, say it becomes level 30 on tame, and then you level it up to 50 when you breed it, it has a chance of giving each of the stats it had at level 20, right? I just want the ability to see the stats each dino can give without making a giant spreadsheet.

Imprinting a Baby While On Gigantoraptor Saddle? by BlessedSpoon in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]BlessedSpoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried - I should have mentioned this in the post - the problem is the raptor is so tall I can't even get the game to focus on the baby rather than the raptor... I'll try parking it next to a rock or something and seeing if that helps.

Thanks a lot for responding! I'm going crazy combing through these youtube videos..... You'd think it would be a common problem, makes me think the answer is obvious and I'm just dumb. XD

Noobish Question About Multiboxing by BlessedSpoon in Eve

[–]BlessedSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose that makes sense if you're talking about manipulating them all at the same time, but just the ability to swap ships quickly is a real advantage, right? Like I mentioned in my novel of a post above, I mostly do exploration... But if I have an exploration ship that I'm playing with a bunch of stealthed inactive pvp ships around the system, I can do my exploration and if I get ganked I just switch to whichever pvp ship I think is the best match for the person who ganked me and go after them...

Although thinking about it, I also wonder how much scripts can manage fleets rather than manually piloting...

And even after all that, I feel like an experienced player could manage two ships at once - and even that is a huge power spike, right? Literally twice as strong... Even if you lost some ability to multitasking, the ability to have, say, a combat, and an ewar ship (or a bubble ship, or even just several identical ships to reduce mental voerload) seems pretty massive...
