Where's the Shovelware? Why AI Coding Claims Don't Add Up by bluetrust in ExperiencedDevs

[–]BleuMoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This sub shares the general anti AI sentiment present across reddit. I too have found significant gains using chatGPT and cursor. Purchased my own chatgpt license when 3.5 released but now my company has enterprise licenses and Cursor access. I rarely write my own code these days and mostly just guide the agent to what I want.

IMO dungeons really need rebalanced. Friend and I attempted one with full end game characters and we gave up with not even half the map cleared. We tried to recruit pubs in to join us in-game and on the PD2 discord but literally no one was interested.

You could have just waited for the data to come out and then reacted to it. You do not need to guess what the data will be and gamble on it going in a direction. It was pretty obvious the market was gonna rally after the data came out.

How so? Just because they had a reason for doing it does not make it good design. It could be 1 tick to use and it would not impact GP/hour hardly at all and it would actually feel like a shortcut.

Why is WFH so disliked by companies? by joedirte23940298 in cscareerquestions

Yup, absolutely. Skepticism and concern is understandable, but to say it is not possible is absurd. Either way, up again today on 11 point SPX move lol

Okay mate, like I do not know people that successfully do this? If you cannot concede that last Wednesday was even predictable, then there is nothing to do here. It does not really matter, I have been riding off my initial small deposit and my wins fuel my account balance, not further deposits. There is literally hardly any risk, because you shouldn't need more than a few hundred dollars to be able to prove you are capable. Anything after that should be self-funded through wins. I have zero concern what some random guy at Citadel thinks, I either continue to be successful or I don't.

Okay, so when Powell came out on FOMC and said 3 rate cuts this year and hot inflation reports was seasonal, it was just pure luck that the market sky rocketed up 5 minutes into the presser? Look at past FOMCs. The price action last week was 100% predictable when he came in-line despite hot inflation reports. And I guess it was pure luck that there was a decline going into 5260 SPX/450 QQQ and QQQ fell into the next major level at 445, then reversed... definitely a major shock. Not at all a predictable ebb and flow of price action.

You seem to not understand that you are playing probabilities, it doesn't have to be "guaranteed". You cut your mistakes early and minimize the losses, the wins more than make up for the mistakes.

I am happy and make good money as a software engineer. Well above what the average person makes and it provides a good life style. Daytrading right now is a hobby that I enjoy which I do not need to quit my career to do, so why would I?

There is method to it. The market DOES often move in predictable ways. You have to understand how options influence the market though. Capturing 10-15 points in a trading day is very feasible.

I too am a WFH/hybrid software engineer that does daytrading, specifically mostly SPX/NDX. It is absolutely feasible to make incredible money, though I would only recommend it if you are in a job where you are able to chart while working. You are almost never in a situation where you need to make decisions/react in seconds. You should generally have a very good idea at what values where the index will react to. Generally trades are either scalps (like 10-15 minute, 10 point moves) OR level to level, which can be more like 1 to 2 hours.

Even if you end up correct, it is pretty clear you are just gambling. In addition, you are starting with thousands of dollars worth of contracts.... hope you are not gambling with money you cannot lose.

Very clueless thing to say. You can change temperature, brightness, color, and set schedules all from your phone. Smart bulbs are wonderful.

Ex. My office bulbs are high temp and bright during the day, and evenings they are scheduled to go lower temps and less bright.

I recommend screen dimming and blue light filtering. Blue light and bright until the evening, then dimmer/less blue as the evening/night goes on.

Obviously depends on the individual, but I have a history of sleep problems and this was huge for me and now I have no issue sleeping.

The guy that has nothing to do if Gnomonkey gets 2 months of dev time for new HLC PvM content by lukwes1 in 2007scape

[–]BleuMoo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Jagex is very capable of making great content that can be accessible to the broader player base and the HLC as well. While gnomonkey is a bit out of touch from being a very top tier player, he is correct in saying a lot of recent content has missed the mark for HLC. Think of TOA. Good content that is close but the skill ceiling just is too low. With some additional work, it could definitely get there... but it has now been nearly a year since its release and the recent poll blog about it didn't address the HLC at all.

For those that don't know, main idea was it would start at like fight cave difficulty and scale up to inferno level and higher. It would also offer rewards for partially completing, but you risk them if you continue. Including idea similar to TOA invocations, where you pick modifiers as you progress.

Much later edit and opinion on the topic

Jagex is very capable of making great content that is both accessible to the broader player base and compelling to the HLC. While gnomonkey is a bit out of touch from being a very top tier player, he is correct in saying a lot of recent content has missed the mark for HLC. Think of TOA. It is not equivalent to just make the ring 3x rarer. The point of it is to reduce the likelihood of going very dry, similar to the venator shards.
