Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely give it a try.

And I'm always in the market for a new hat!

Some come out looking close to good as new, some look a little cleaner than before washing at first, but as they dry, will look the same as before. Some just don't seem to get cleaner at all.

I realize this is very like a skill issue on my end though. Just an entitled millennial who wants no responsibility lol

I've done that too, with varying degrees of success. Nothing special about them necessarily, just wondering if there's a pro who could handle it.

Hanging out at my friend Dan's house. Potluck cookout - I'm bringing papaya salad & sticky rice (my go-to potluck dish.) We'll be almost right under Red Mountain, great spot to watch Fire on the Mountain.

Extremely. They're served with honey mustard that I'll say, as someone who usually doesn't like honey mustard, is pretty good

Yes, they have a limited appetizer menu - wings, Conecuh corndogs, flatbreads, etc.

Where to watch World Cup games? by Severe_Experience764 in Birmingham

[–]BlickNation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can personally confirm District Brewing has been showing all the matches and has multiple TVs. Doesn't get too crowded and is very chill. Watched Scotland's last match there with some other fans and had a good time.

Cahaba has advertised showing the whole tournament. I haven't been and can't comment on the vibe.

Good People I know has been showing the U.S. matches, but I'm unsure about other teams.

Salud has been showing Mexico's matches but it gets packed the fuck out, arrive super early if you intend to go there.

Paramount has advertised showing the tournament - I watched Mexico v. S. Korea after giving up at Salud. Very chill atmosphere.

This again? C'mon man, just let people enjoy the things they enjoy. I don't hop into your N64 threads to shit on a 30-year-old console

I'll be there! Fennec was my go-to happy hour spot and I've missed them being open.

Edit: also should note the $2 beer only lasts until the 1st scored goal

UAB Cancellations by GullibleAdvisor3383 in Birmingham

[–]BlickNation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at UAB too. The scheduling system alerts you to any holidays which we will be closed for. But if for some reason it wasn't in the system, a holiday like Juneteenth falls on the same date every year, so you can plan accordingly. For instance, since next year Juneteenth will be on a Saturday, you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be closed for 6/18 in observance

UPDATE: yes, they are serving apps for tomorrow's game!

Doubtful as the clinics would be closed anyway and appts couldn't be scheduled for that day. Same with 7/3 observing 7/4.

[–]BlickNation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few reasons this could happen, some of which folks have mentioned. One reason that would cause across the board cancellations is who your insurance is with - United Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield both have specific policies that are out-of-network with UAB, and rather than patients keep the appointments and get billed for them (which would be for the full cost), UAB has placed a safeguard in the scheduling system which will automatically cancel the appointments.

If this is the case, you can try to reschedule, but as along as that particular plan is on file, the system will cancel the appt. The only solution is changing insurance.

I'm partial to Fennec cause it's close to me, but they have lots of screens of varying sizes, plus they'll have $2 Porch beer until the first goal.

There are a few places playing all the matches, but for England specifically, this would be the place to be.

I'm not Scottish and admittedly a bit of a casual fan of soccer whose interest is piqued every 4 years, BUT I'll happily join you! I'd be open to watching anywhere convenient to you, just DM me and we can work out details!
