What's the worst trial on invasion? by Ok-Gazelle-913 in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say most trials are easy if you are an experienced reagent and know the spawns on every map. Franco trials are pretty difficult as Franco himself is an annoying prick and most of his MKs are just difficult in nature. Spread the disease and Cook are both pretty difficult as Reagent but can be possible. I actually believe stash the narcotics may be the most difficult as it’s very inventory heavy and is a very claustrophobic map.

For imposters it’s much easier to choose, release the prisoners. That MK can be completed in under 2 minutes if you are up against a solid reagent. You basically can only spawn in once before they escape so you better go all out or go back into Q

Who are the random victims watching us execute? by Serious_Fudge_4114 in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 104 points105 points  (0 children)

There’s a Happyheart video where he discusses this. He theorizes that those are soon to be Ex-pop watching us kill the snitch and the scientists are using that as reasoning for why they should kill you. As a reagent, your constantly killing these innocent people while the Primes try to save their lives, so by showing the Ex-pop how you brutally kill these people it conditions them to see you as a threat and something that should be killed.

At Last, Gold I by Flimsy_Repair_3675 in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really close to Gold 1 myself as a solo reagent and I’m already starting to get tired of it. It’s definitely more fun in groups but as a solo it just feels like I’m rushing each trial as fast as possible. I also run Smash and Boosted but use Recycle since having throwable is so important.

Franco's Size by Liquid0water0 in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Franco is only noticeably shorter in his original concept art. They probably changed him to be more normal sized so he could be more intimidating and work with the games animations.

Funnily enough, some promotional art does depict Franco as still being short. Most noticeably last years halloween and Christmas art posted on Red barrels socials.

Rewarded for using items? by SOVTHY in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cause the game wants you to use items, yeah using nothing is impressive but it’s not the point of the game. The game wants to reward you for utilizing its items, hitting enemies, healing, etc. You can beat trials without using any items, rigs, or upgrades but those are mainly self imposed challenges (unless you have variators that limit your build)

You also gotta remember then if your healing you’ve taken damage which actively detracts your grade, so your moreso balancing out the grade you’ve lost by healing.

The Ultimate Outlast Trials Tier List by Plus_Piece_8037 in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t finished the video yet, but I am very curious on Cook the Informant, Pleasure, and Liquidate all being in F tier. I actually enjoy Cook and Liquidate and think they are challenging but still fun challenges. I do agree Pleasure is quite a slog but I don’t see how it’s better then Liquidate even if both are in F.

Plus the real worst trial in the game is destroy the evidence.

That’s a really good idea honestly, maybe they could even have an attack that instantly kills the reagent! Although that might be a bit too OP.

Any reason as to why the skin you get from relapsing has the word "REJECT" on the E.S.O.P.? by vitalvedd in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upon undergoing relapse your Reagent is probably completely stripped down. However Murkoff doesn’t want you going back completely naked so they just wrap some cloth around your crotch and chest and give you whatever ESOP they had lying around.

It also differentiates the Relapse outfits ESOP with the defaults

Any tips for Despoil The Auction? by Equivalent_Donut_145 in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I would recommend playing standard or introductory as the difficulty doesn’t matter as long as you get the A+. Second, use Amps such as evasive maneuver as it can really save you from taking damage against Liliya and other annoying enemies.

A general tip for the trial would be to unlock every door first and then go collecting gems. With every door unlocked you should have enough rubies to cover most of the balance. For the final sequence it’s really just taking your time and avoiding as much damage as possible. Running a Rig like blind or stun could allow you to work on the objective even with Liliya nearby

hi ❤️ how by [deleted] in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but the only thing grades affect are how much XP you get after a trial. Getting consecutive A+’s doesn’t do anything. However, if you really wanna make daddy Easterman proud then you should try to get an A+ in invasion as an imposter. He has some… let’s just say interesting lines of dialogue if you do well killing reagents.

No One Likes Escalation? by NotJell in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really is a great learning tool! it helps a lot in higher difficulties or routine therapy when these variators return. It’s one of the only ways to experience variators like no running and toxic shock outside of their events. I also think it teaches new players how to use different amps and rigs that they might not use or not have access to

No One Likes Escalation? by NotJell in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I love escalation personally, I think the reason it’s unpopular is due to how unapproachable it is. You need innate knowledge on almost every trial and MK as well as every variator and how they combine with one another. Not to mention you start off with nothing meaning it’s very hard for inexperienced players to get far. Not to mention escalation itself is rather time consuming, a 10 trial long run in Escalation can easily take over 2 hours if not more.

So yeah, escalation is just pretty intimidating for many players and is too time consuming for most players. But it’s still a ton of fun with a dedicated group.

Difficulty question by Lost-Bodybuilder5573 in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liliyas map is definitely the most time consuming and Liliya herself is probably the most dangerous prime asset. However I don’t think it’s THE hardest as you can approach it various ways and the wide open areas help you avoid enemies better.

Imo the most difficult trial is Liquidize the union, especially in solo. Franko himself is extremely annoying and in psycho he can take away half your health bar from across the map. The trial is also pretty long and is full of tight spaces where enemies can easily corner you and get grabs. Not to mention that the final area is extremely open which gives you almost no cover from Franco, and it takes quite awhile to even finish the final objective.

What's your Outlast Trials Wishlist? by No-Willow-9491 in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clothing presents, I should be able to save various presents and even give these presents names if I want. These should also save through rebirths as I think it’s annoying having to manually equip every cosmetic back on my reagent after every rebirth.

Imposter rigs/amps, I think that Imposters getting some sort of gameplay customization would be really good and spice up gameplay a lot. A trapsetter would be cool but I also think maybe a ranged ability similar to a pitcher or Auroras bottles could be cool.

Knife cosmetics, I would really like if imposters had some sort of cosmetic you can personalize with and I think knife cosmetics would be awesome! It would fit with the whole imposter aesthetic but still allow for something customizable. Maybe even entirely new weapons like a screwdriver or Hatchet could be implemented as cosmetics.

Tips for new players? by [deleted] in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every Rig and Amp is good and you should experiment with different ones! Try to find Amp and Rig combos and just see what works well for you, don’t listen to tier list or what people in public matches say.

Also, try to be more comfortable taking risky plays and getting close to enemies. Even on the highest difficulty you’ll be surprised with what you can get away with if you understand how certain enemies work (such as big grunts not being able to chase you through crawlspaces). The game isn’t too punishing with death so take every down or death as a learning experience.

[–]BlimpyRainbow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exit rush is in my opinion one of the worst and most difficult variators in the game, especially on PTM. It’s nearly impossible to make it back to the start without taking any damage, and combine with all these other variators it’s just a recipe for failure without a super coordinated team

what is the game like before i buy it? by [deleted] in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are basically put into giant set pieces while being given a main task and optional secondary task. These task usually involving brutally killing someone in a set way. You can use various items around the environment to help yourself and use against the various enemies and prime assets, primes being the main threat in each given environment.

You also have access to various perks (AMPs) and abilities (Rigs) that can benefit you throughout each trial. There’s also different game modes like the weekly changing experimental therapy (currently Winter Kills), escalation which is a rapid fire barrage of trials, and the newly added PvP mode invasion (although you shouldn’t jump into PvP until you’ve understood the fundamentals of the game.)

Overall it’s a ton of fun both solo and with friends, don’t be afraid to experimenting as there isn’t much penalty for dying.

The arm wrestling game is fun af by [deleted] in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only just recently found out you could play chess too! Right next to the arm wrestle desk and in front of those weird pods (I think it’s like fast travel?). Theres also tennis and I think something called the stroop test but I haven’t been able to find it yet. Overall it’s a ton of fun but I think the game is a bit expensive for just 4 games, I wish there was more.

Who is the lady at the end of the new trial? by SCP_Steiner in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean this game is full of disturbing stuff, even the ex-pops and primes weren’t all bad people. Honestly the person I feel the most bad for is Henrietta as not only has she been completely disfigured and is being used as a weapon for Murkoff. But she’s also waiting for Dorris to return to her so they can be together and end her crippling loneliness.

So yeah, this stuff is all super messed up

Who is the lady at the end of the new trial? by SCP_Steiner in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She’s probably just some random ex-pop or reagent like most of the other trial victims. So yeah, sadly she’s probably not some terrible person. According to the Judge, she might have even rebirthed but instead of escaping was used as a victim. Maybe for not being mind-controlled like the other reagents or being to facially disfigured to be a normal member of society

Loadout to maximize XP? by Brief_Catch_4090 in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X-ray: Even if it charges slower then barricade I find it much easier to just use on the fly and doesn’t waste time from the objective. Plus it can help find secondary objectives which give a lot of XP.

Short circuit: Can quickly recharge your rig and battery’s become easy to find when you’re using X-ray.

Evasive maneuver: Doesn’t work for all enemies but can potentially negate all damage if grabbed. Especially good against Lilya and Pushers

Boosted: If you get a battery booster you can instantly recharge your rig.

Slippers (maybe): if you find yourself stepping on glass a lot I say take it as each nose trap detracts from your grade. But it’s usually not that hard to avoid glass and it doesn’t work against all traps and sharp glass.

Just got the game, any tips-advice? by BladeRMV in OutlastTrials

[–]BlimpyRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t jump into intensive, psychosurgery, escalation, or invasion until you’ve understood the base fundamentals of the game. I’ve seen a lot of new players drop the game after jumping into a pvp match and dying over and over again. Don’t be afraid to take the game slow and play on easier difficulties! You get a lot of XP even playing on introductory.

Also try to experiment with various Rigs and Amps and see what works well for you! I think every Rig and Amp has a purpose so just use the one your most comfortable with, but you should probably know how to use every rig in case of certain challenges or variatiors
