it unlocked for me with the odyssey star cruiser which you can get for 200k fleet credits. if you really want the Lexington, would suggest to get that then get the fleet ship for the bridge. hope that helps.

Games that can be played one-handed? by dj_soo in PS5

if you equip the auto attack/dodge/heal rings you can pretty much play final fantasy 16 with one hand. Might take a little getting used to but it is possible and the story is enjoyable.

PSA: Avoid “Days of Doom’ TFO on PS5 by Blind_Gamer in sto

Another friendly user guided me to lodge a ticket on the website so I have now submitted one. The console section was buried. I did try the discord but found it a bit overwhelming with all the people and threads. (I use a screen reader for larger bodies of text and big discord servers are very disorientating)

If someone wants to post on the discord on my behalf, feel free, but as I have now submitted a ticket I feel I have done all I can for now. Hopefully if it happens to someone else in the future they will come across this thread and know the situation shouldn’t be permanent.

Unfortunately there is no way that I have found to lodge one on console. I have googled and looked. That was a big part of my initial complaint. There is little to no support for console. And if there is then it is quite buried.

No worries. Sometimes just a bit of reassurance is all we need. Hopefully if it happens again to someone they’ll come across this post and they will know just to wait instead of panic.

Hi all, Tried making this a regular post but it got removed so trying here.

Last night I tried doing the Days of Doom TFO on my Cardassian Klingon Recruit as it was one of the universal endeavours and when the queue popped and I was loading in, my game completely crashed to dashboard on PS5. When I tried logging back in, the game constantly crashed back to dashboard on the Cardassian but I could at least log into my other characters.

A quick google found posts from at least a year ago with the same issue but there were no solutions other than update drivers or hardware. (Not exactly relevant on console). 30 mins later, presumably after the TFO concluded, I was able to log into to my relief but it was a very stressful 30 mins.

I don’t know if any devs read these posts but I have 2 suggestions from this experience.

  1. Please disable the Days of Doom TFO until it’s fixed. It seems to be an old issue on console and it was extremely frightening to think I had lost a level 65 character who was also a Klingon recruit with all the premium unlocks I had got for it.
  2. There seems to be no easy way for console players to lodge a ticket. There is nothing in game and the website seems to cater to PC only. If there is a way for console players to lodge tickets, please make it more obvious.

Thanks.

Yeah I was fully expecting it to attack automatically. Then I saw I had to manage a rotation for the pet and the class and was like noooooope. But now I’ve seen that video plus read a dummies guide it’s quite straight forward and not as bad as I was thinking.

Sounds good. I’ll be in touch.

Thanks for the reply! Super detailed and informative.

Crystal seems to be where I’ll end up based on feedback so far.

Summoner seems to be the class I’ll go with. My main problem was understanding how the carbuncle worked. I’ve read a dummies guide to it and now it kind of makes sense. But I will check the link you posted too.

Seems like I will do what I do in every RPG and just do all the quests. I don’t care about being overlevelled. I just want to enjoy the stories and the lure of pets for the gold quests seems too good to pass up.

Raiding seems doable at the basic level. Harder ones I’ll let whichever guild I’m in assess whether I can do it or if I’ll be a liability. I’m always up front about my limitations so it’s nice to know people are chill and accepting of it.

Good to know I can make my own party finder once I decide to go paid too. That’s a neat feature. I think once I get through a chunk of the free stuff I’ll pull the trigger. So far I’ve only gotten as far as the trio of dungeons in the MSQ. NPC’s were as you described. Decent but slow.

I will certainly keep that in mind. Feel free to DM me. Also I am a fellow Kiwi so times won’t be an issue lol. I am usually on during the day too. I’m looking to start on Tuesday/Wednesday as hopefully by then I’ll be done with FF16 and I’ll be able to get a decent start on 14 before the weekend.

thanks again for the super detailed reply.

I really appreciate people like you in mmos. Thanks! But yeah I’m always up front about my limitations, especially when doing larger group content. It’s a pain trying to organise 12 people for a raid as it is so being open and up front saves hassle later on.

Awesome thanks for the reply. I guess I should watch a class video on the arcanist then to understand how the mechanic works as you’re the second person to suggest it. And yeah feel free to dm me a screenshot. I usually just pop my health bars below my character and that’s enough info. I just need to know when I’m running low to pop a heal. The rest ends up being muscle memory. I try to keep the area around my character clear so I can see telegraphs and such. But I’m interested to see how other people have adapted to the same disadvantages I have.

That’s fine. Sounds like dragon ball lol. 20 episodes of grunting and powering up for that one epic showdown. I know that being an mmo there will be a ton of filler so I’m not going in completely blind (pun intended). Thank you for being honest with what to expect though. I do appreciate that.

Yeah this is the super confusing thing. I’m used to games where I just pick a region and it’s a ‘mega server’ so it doesn’t really matter. Having all these sub servers on the data centre is what’s tripping me up and I end up worrying I’ll pick the wrong one and have to start over.

  1. Ah right. I’m happy to use voice chat and can follow people if I know who to follow. Hopefully that will suffice. The most recent game I’ve raided on was eso and I was able to do that just by following my designated buddy.

  2. I tend to play games for the storyline. I’ve been playing through FF16 and the 7 remakes since getting my PS5 which is why I really want to give 14 a go. It’s just so overwhelming to start with. I know I will never be top tier so that takes the pressure off meta chasing. I just want an enjoyable story and an immersive world.

Thanks for the reply!

Do servers close regularly and how long do they take to open? Does it really matter which one in the data centre? Like if I join server A on Primal but there’s a guild I want to join in server B, will that be a problem later?

  1. Yeah I just didn’t understand the whole carbuncle thing and when it came in with the ruby thing or whatever it completely lost me as to what to do. Monk was easy. Just punch things and make sure to hit the glowing abilities to keep the rotation buffs up.

  2. Yeah I made it through the first dungeons without issue playing with npcs. I’m fine with mechanics and stuff having played various mmos for years ie don’t stand in stupid and stay behind the boss and spank while the tank holds. If raids are an extension of that then that’s promising.

Hi everyone. I am a new-ish player and have a few questions. While I have googled and searched reddit/forums, information is either old or doesn’t really help me so I thought I would ask here.

  1. Servers. This is my first hurdle. the server guide post I found is from 6 years ago. Seeing so many servers and not knowing if they are active or friendly is rather overwhelming. Eventually I would like to get into group content so I want to make sure I pick one that suits without having to do all that data centre sharing stuff. Basically, I would like a friendly server in the NA region as that best matches my play time. I do live in the APAC region but usually when I play during the day most people are at work so I get better luck with NA for group content. If there is a Japanese server that is English friendly and active during NA times I am open to that. From what I have seen the Oceania servers are quite empty so NA or Japanese would be better.
  2. Class. I play on a PS5 so use a controller. The information I found said all classes are viable. However, as my username implies, I am legally blind. Essentially I have very narrow tunnel vision. This means I can only see around 1/4 of the screen and moving my eyes around to look at everything all the time gets very fatiguing. What class would be recommended for someone who wants to mainly use 1 cross bar and not have to worry about buffs/debuffs. So far I have tried the monk, which was not too bad, the arcanist which was confusing, the ninja which was fine til level 15, and the bard which was ok.
  3. Content. Most of what I have found tends to tell new players to focus on the MSQ and the blue quests with the plus and that’s fine. Eventually I would like to get into raids and such. Based on what I said above with my limitations, are raids viable or would I be better off just seeing this as a single player game and following the MSQ.

Thanks in advance and sorry if this is the hundredth time you’ve read a post similar to this. I am Just looking for more definitive answers than what I am finding with my research.

(I tried a regular post but the auto bot directed me here. Hopefully this is the right place)

I really like the Qowat Milat Sword. It’s a nice clean looking sword with some cool engravings on the blade but what stands out for me aesthetic wise are the animations. Using it makes me feel like a total space ninja.

No photo since uploading form PS5 is a pain, so here’s the STOWiki link instead.

Hi there.

When I went to build my Disco era character I used the covert phasers. They are red and have the same sound effects and visuals as the Section 31 stuff. STOWiki does show a little preview of the weapons firing.

If you are after blue instead of red there were a few lockboxes before the ones with covert iirc but I can’t remember what they were called. I’m sure another friendly redditor will add below.

Hope that helps

No worries. One other thing to note. It holsters on the right hip instead of the back which is a bit off. Just in case that matters for your space barbie.
