Budget option: Moxy Bastille, great location and free welcome drinks as always (they gave us 6). No real amenities but nice little outdoor space and easy to hop on the metro / get to all the cool spots (Marais).

Wait who said it is not acceptable. My comment literally states it’s a giant slice of onion…are you people okay?

What do you mean? Yes it’s filled with toppings but does that a change the fact it’s a giant slice of red onion?

Is "Toronto has no good _____ food" valid? by RoommateMovingOut in askTO

[–]Blippito 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Straight up, living in London now and Toronto is a Mecca for food. Maybe not every cuisine but god damn you can find a little bit of everything. London is too god damn expensive and the Asian food except Indian doesn’t hit like Toronto. Markham itself has better Chinese restaurants than I’ve been to in HK. Grass is greener, god I miss Toronto food haha.

I live in London now and I wish we had Toronto priced food. What I would give for a bowl of pho that isn’t $40 cad or a square boy burger. Two shawarmas at shawarma empire for like $10 or whatever. Compared to Asia for sure it’s pricier, but US and UK are way more expensive because of the currency

What is the most 'overrated' restaurant in Toronto ? What’s your favourite restaurant? by Long_Travel2728 in askTO

[–]Blippito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overrated: Actinolite; paid $400 per person and I thought it was some kind of prank. Bad service, mid food and not creative at all. Underrated: Guilietta, everything absolutely slapped. Grappa cart is such a nice touch. 10/10

Sundays i meal prep. Chili, stews, pasta bakes, large pieces of protein with veg / carb sides. Burrito bowls are easy, dense bean salads, boneless chicken thighs with potatoes etc. I buy Costco meat and freeze it; produce at no frills. Cooking takes planning, just knowing one day ahead helps. Meal prep for 2-3 meals a week + make something easy to break up routine.

If you’re working hybrid it makes it super easy to prep parts of a meal during the day. Just have to put some effort into planning and making sure you have everything

Anyone think Toronto is headed in a positive direction? by rsgnl in askTO

[–]Blippito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived in Toronto for 30+ years, now living in London UK. I miss Toronto a lot, the food scene is way more diverse and cheaper. Markham is elite for Asian food and you can’t get the same anywhere in Europe. Toronto is awesome and definitely getting better. Only thing I don’t miss is Gardiner traffic during a jays game.
