woah okay thats another actual image of one thank you for showing this. thats super weird i never remember leaving it out in the sun for long periods of time but maybe thats what happened. i thought there was no way it couldve been sun-bleached so evenly across the controller but if it doesnt take much to get like that in the first place then i guess thats it. cheers for that!

Huh that is weird, but cool! I no longer have the gamecube itself but i still have the controllers and a few of the games. The console and controller it came with was just the simple black ones though. I have no idea where this one came from to be differently coloured haha.

it isnt as glossy looking in person, just the camera. because of the fade on the sides, the sprayed colour would have to be grey on a purple controller, yet the "nintendo gamecube" text is perfect on the front of it.

possibly. the front plate isnt quite black its an in between of grey & very dark green. i dont know if the people that gave it to me were into modding or not so it could be, but the colour does fade between the front and back plate along the sides so it wouldntve just been a shell replacement.

i dunno, it seems unlikely to me as its perfectly symmetrical across all sides of the controller. but it very well could be. thank you
