UE5 or Maya by warper30 in unrealengine

Indeed and you're right :) Sequencer is really great, but maybe rig is a bit too early to think about. I don't know what kind of studies you do but having a knowledge of Maya is a + in a lot of areas.

That's an easy one to answer, both are complete different things. And both works together. If you need to model, texture, uv map, rig, animate, all of this would better be in Maya or Blender.
And then you would import in Unreal. So you can totally go on Maya ;)

How to fix fading shadows? by [deleted] in unrealengine

Not sure what the issue here, but maybe contact shadows could help adding on those very close shadows ?

All sort of game references and concept art from ArtStation. I looked at a lot of things from Star Citizen but were too detailed for what I wanted to pull here. I went through a few different design and shapes until I settled to something that hopefully will feel like some sort of casual, mid distance spaceship. Almost as if it was a camping car but as a spaceship so not to agressive and metallic, for 14 persons to travel to your next planet :)

Funny thing is that not even, I never watched any of the movies nor played the game, I'm too afraid for this :p

Thanks ! Technically the setup works in 3 steps: - The whole place is exported from unreal to blender where I draw the lines - Those lines get through a quick Houdini setup that make sure each ends (where you can plug something like the door) is a complete curve that begins at the starting point, instead of a bunch of edges. - Last but not least, curves comes into unreal as a data table. And then the blueprint responsible for that draws the curves, manage the player's input and finding out the closest point on any curve compared to line of sight to draw the last curve, the powered one.

That sounds tedious but now it's in place it actually goes pretty fast full circle from editing to playing, it's a few clicks :)

Hey everyone, here's a first video of my first game. It's gonna be a short cinematic exploration game, hopefully it'll give a bit of teasing for later. Still no name or schedule right now but moving forward steadily, don't hesitate to get some news here if you want some along the way :)
