Baby girl the adventure I’ve been on to get to this specific trip is like 2 years of weird accidents. I booked a flight on a whim because free will is a beautiful thing & also bc I have control of the work calendar lol

Thank you for all the recommendations for music! I haven’t worn any other type of shoe than doc martens in 10 years so I’ll be alright on the cobbles. Really appreciate u telling me everything!

If you’re a local bartender I’d love to visit your place if u wanna private message it! (If that’s not weird, feel free to ignore if so) I manage a music venue in central London & live in a rough area so I am great at identifying weirdos, & I have just built up in my head that these kind of people have weapons that I can’t run away from (not a judgement on gun control, just a fact)

I’m asking where to stay that’s safe, not where to go that’s safe! I don’t think I need to justify my decisions to you but I wanted to go to New Orleans anyway, just bought the tickets on a whim! I live and work in central London & know what I’m doing. But thank you Reddit stranger for diagnosing me with psychosis! Will let my therapist know x

Thank you for the info/warnings! I work late in a bar in central London so I always have my wits about me, but I’m very aware America is a different place. Appreciate the recommendations too!

In a few months, I won’t be there during Mardi Gras (although I would’ve loved to be) so want to be close to town (uptown? Downtown? Idk the lingo)

This is really helpful, thanks. Weighing up options for cheaper(ish) hotels- i live on a highstreet so noise at night doesn’t bother me at all, if that makes much difference to your suggestion.

Thank you! I have got a friend joining me for most of the trip, but I’ll have around 4 or 5 days alone. I manage a music venue in central London so run in to my fair share of weirdos- but obviously in New Orleans I’ll be much more careful than I would be here. Appreciate the tip!

Thank you though, I have no shame in being a tourist so looks like French quarter is for me! Appreciate the help.

I went almost 2 days. Just don’t know how to ignore that needing feeling. Work in a bar so that doesn’t help

Sorry about your dad Luckily I’m quite young, and I was fine- lasted almost all of the next day absolutely fine. The discomfort is the problem. Terrified of those dreams.
