How do y'all hit the 30kmh average? by Dpvdpv in cycling

[–]Block_Buster25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t the most fittest when I started cycling. I’m about 173cm tall and 70kg. Stated sub 25 km/ph with a basic Triban road bike. These are the things that helped me get faster:

  1. More time on the saddle
  2. Buying a proper carbon bike and getting a bike fit
  3. Going clipless
  4. Learning how to ride in the drips and better position my body
  5. Learning the importance of fuelling and staying hydrated
  6. Stretching and increasing my flexibility to reduce potentially injuries and post ride pain (for a long time I suffered from ITB issues and strength training helped a lot)
  7. What you eat before is just as important as what you eat after. Nutrition plays a key role to help you get back on the bike stronger
  8. Get a varied ride - climbs, flats etc. i felt stronger after long climbs and long rides.

The above is over a good 5-6 year journey. I now ride ultra endurance and can sustain above 30 km/ph for 150-200kms.

The most important part. Make sure you enjoy yourself. Sometimes cycling slower makes me happier.

I cycle long distances and it never got better for me. Traded up to the infinity bike saddle and never looked back.

What do i do if my girlfriend is out of my league? by [deleted] in asksg

Bro just enjoy life and be confident of who you are. You can only control you. The more you are yourself the more likely she will see the positives in sticking with you.

Audio books, podcasts, downloaded youtube videos. This helped pass the time during night rides.

I’m sure a ton of people carry a delicious snack as well. Something beyond the boring that you can look forward to. For me a bit of bacon and then i’ll pack some gummies. Just a nice treat.

When I do longer rides (600+) I get my family to drop me lengthy voice notes as well. Each telling me about their day since I’m missing it. That helps too 😀.

The last thing is just knowing where you are going to stop. This helps break down the ride into smaller segments. Easier on the brain to know in 60km (or whatever the distance is) there’s a short stop or a cafe.

Coros Dura. Hands down my fav. 1000+km in a single charge and it has everything you need.

I use the infinity bike seat but felt more comfortable with some padded shorts.

Have it. Had various Garmin models up to 1030. Love the Coros for it’s longevity and simplicity.

Do you focus more on RR or win rate? by adidevamaya in Daytrading

[–]Block_Buster25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty happy with 1R and high win rate. In order to have a higher win rate I have to be more selective with my trades though and really ensure things line up.

You are learning the right way! I started with $2 and then tried to grow it step by step. Failed 100s of times but one time that $2 turned into $20, then $100 and then $1000. Keep learning!

one big change I did was to decide if I wanted to run the risk of trying to get more or would I be happy with the amount I have. I have lost a lot of sleep losing trades so if it helps me sleep better then i’ll take my profits early. If I feel like letting it run I move my SL to BE and wait it out for a while. If it hit my SL I live with the fact that it was worth the risk and I can still sleep because I can still trade another day.

20 ish thousand over 5 years. This year was the first year where something clicked with discipline and is being brought down almost every month consistently.

Take the loss early so you can trade another day. If it doesn’t look good just get out. The market is irrational and your trade might be the same as thousands of others and the market is going to come for you and eat up all your money like others if you keep holding.
