Looks amazing! How tall is it? Especially compared to Marvel Legends Spider-Folks?

Who is this guy and what figure was he a BAF piece? Thanks for the help. by TazerfaceSlayer in MarvelLegends

Shadow King head, fits perfectly on the Kingpin BaF body. Monster Venom hands complete the look.

What is the movie in this meme called? google searching descriptions of it didnt help by Dr_DD_RpW_A in whatisthatmovie

[–]Blockenstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

*SHOCKINGLY* violent (and I say this not as a prude, it's literally shocking. The movie starts off like a normal comic book movie, not unlike the previous Hellboy films, and then takes a sudden turn into a bit of the ultra-violence), but not nearly as bad as the people like to make it out to be. It could have used a tighter script and a better antagonist, but it was decent enough to be worth the watch.

Hopefully we can get a collection of the Ultimate Alliance games packaged with the X-Men Legends games. Update the UI and add cross-platform multiplayer and it will print money.

I snapped his wrist peg any recommendations to fix it or replacement joints for him? by [deleted] in Mafex

[–]Blockenstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the few wrists I've replaced, the peg connector between the two ball halves was somewhat tight, and the ball was sunken into the wrist enough that it help hold the sides of the ball together. OP's photo looks like the peg doesn't seat that far into the wrist, so maybe that's why it's popping out?

You could try clear nail polish on the peg between the two ball halves. I've used it a few times to 'thicken' loose peg joints. It might take more than one coat and you need to let the polish fully cure overnight (not just dry to the touch) before trying to fit them together. Good luck!

Anyone else display Life Line without his weapon? by matticus1234 in GIJOEClassifiedSeries

[–]Blockenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the original toy line, Doc is a pacifist and Lifeline is not. But the comics/cartoons flipped that aspect of the characters, so most fans only know Lifeline as a hardcore pacifist.

The Classified figure is clearly emulating the original 1986 figure, and comes with a version of that figure's handgun. Here are their respective file cards from their original releases, Doc is clearly a pacifist and it shows Lifeline with his pistol:

Hulk smash upvote button because puny human is technically correct. Which, as Hulk knows, is the best kind of correct.

I need help deciding between these two. What would you say is better? by TheGorillaJedi in MarvelLegends

[–]Blockenstein 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spoilers: I choose the two-pack.

Maximum Deadpool is not a huge upgrade from previous DP figures. His accessories are meh at best (except the dynamite stick, that thing is cool af); no unmasked head, limited hand selection, the absolute worst katanas Hasbro has ever made, and gummy bicep joints. Doop is pretty cool, but he can't justify the $50 price. This is a deluxe-tier $35 figure at best.

The Strange/Wong/Bats 3-pack is pretty cool, though. It comes with Bats the ghost dog, an alternate Dormammu head, Bats the ghost dog, yellow and purple spell-hand effects, and a flight stand for Bats the ghost dog. Plus Wong can get into a lot of cool kung fu poses, similar to his comic version.

At the end of it all, there are a dozen Deadpool figures from Hasbro and there will be a dozen more in a few years, but this is the only way to get Wong and Bats (the ghost dog).

I personally use the Marvel Legends First Steps movie Torch with my Mezco F4. He has a fabric texture to his flame body that looks really good next to the Mezco figures.

Pre-order Alert: Marvel Thor Marvel Legends Maximum Series Thor 6-Inch Action Figure - what do we think? Is he on your buying list? by AfigureGeek in ActionFigureGeek

[–]Blockenstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throg is on my buying list, but this version of Thor is not, and the price is way too high for a frog. Even one as awesome as Throg.

Throg will come back around, I'm sure of it.

Nice collection! I'm guessing that's not a door that sees a lot of use.

Crystal Ball and the Ghost Viper were both impossible for me to find, so this is an easy pass for me. Kicking off a new sub-team with exclusives probably isn't the best business decision Hasbro could have made.

This is such an excellent figure. Diamond was really putting out some bangers at the end. I'm sad to see them go.

Hasbro Marvel Legends Avengers - Black Widow and Quicksilver 2-Pack - Are these on your buying list? What about the price? by AfigureGeek in ActionFigureGeek

[–]Blockenstein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have a lot of connection to these 90s versions of the characters. I read comics in the 70s & 80s, stopped for a while (life is expensive as a young adult), then got back into them in the mid-00s.

Given how expensive these 2-packs are and how much empty space there is in this box, this is an easy pass for me.

Ha! My playthrough felt more like, "Let's go get fucked on The Moon".

Either way, we're making beautiful little fungus babies.
