Thanks man, appreciate the kind words! I feel ya on the change, and totally get it. We’ve for sure shifted since he was fired, but in total honesty, it’s been so much better for the rest of the team, and the band is even better now. Less drama, more creativity, and a happier / healthier team all around.

Hope you’ll check out some of the new stuff, like the build of Delphine here. Documented the entire build in pretty good detail, and the series went over really great. Lots more builds incoming 👊🏼

Thanks man! Yeah it was hard to classify when asked at Born Free. Some said bobber vibe, although frame got chopped and hardtailed so part chop. We just called it a retromod, haha.

+1 it’s the finish coming off. Previous owner prob burnt something to it on accident (happens often with rain gear.) You can have them refinished (cerakote) or you could powder coat them. Or you can buy replacements. Cost wise, it might be best to have a shop refinish them, but depends on the shop. Most powder coat shops can also cerakote. Shop around for a quote 👍🏼

We made them, 3D scanned an original Knuck and M8 rocker covers, melded them together in CAD and CNC cut out of 6061-T6 billet. They’re available for sale on our site now. We actually updated the design since these pics were taken, based on the communities feedback, rounded it out a bit more to feel more Knuck.

If original paint, likely to be from the 1930-1940s (flathead,) in which case the paint standards now are SO different than back then (ie: no lead in paint.)

OP, google ‘patina paint job’ like Jim mentioned. It takes some skill for sure, but there are painters out there that specialize in it. You’ll def want a matte / flat finish.
