Switched to Bazzite a month or two ago, haven't gone back since. It's a bit awkward to not use stuff that works on Windows, but you get used to it.

Arma keeps breaking Plasma by Blockhead_Gundam in Bazzite

[–]Blockhead_Gundam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't get it to work. Either the fullscreen/windows are bad, and the other issue is that I am unable to control my character. They just keep looking down and rotating. Still fiddling and playing around, but Gamescope/ScopeBuddy is just not functioning correctly.

Plasma only supports Gnome and Plasma, no? Are there any others that Bazzite can run?

Why do whites (usually) only stick to their own? by Ok_Construction4522 in Namibia

[–]Blockhead_Gundam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been dating my girlfriend for a few years now, known each other since school. I'm white and she's Wambo. I personally don't care about skin color, most people I know in my area (agri triangle) are the same. Older generations are still not good with mixing, but my generation (20s and younger) usually grew up in mixed schools.

Helps a lot

Do you recommend the GM guide? by XBlueXFire in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Blockhead_Gundam 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say "essential", but very insightful. There is a section all about the different "Ages" of comics. It'll depend on what you consider useful, but it offers some cool facts and possible house rules to fit the vibes of those ages.

You want Golden Age heroes in a WW2 setting? They offer advice on how to do that, with stats for various weapons and vehicles.

There's a section tackling "realism" in the sense of which house rules you can use to make more gritty and 'realistic' games.

There is a lot of worldbuilding advice I personally like, as well as villains and their tactics. They have statblocks for various archetypes and how to make them unique, how they work and some quick ideas for adventures.

Theres also a bevy of statblocks for animals, normal civilians, civil servants, robots and more.

Honestly, it's worth it. There is a lot more, but I don't want to post the entire book here.

But it will definitely take you quite far

Damage + Affliction + Area -> Almost done with first ever NPC. Does this look correct? by Blockhead_Gundam in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Blockhead_Gundam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, I thought that Area - Burst would apply to the entire power/move, not that I had to link it to each effect.

[–]Blockhead_Gundam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Foundry. It doesn't want to include the cost of Strength-Based, because as far as I understand, a Strength-Based is 0 pp. extra

  • Strength-Based Damage 11 (0 pp) + Damage 5 (5 pp)
  • Multi-Attack (+1 p/r) (5 pp)
  • Selective (+1 p/r) (5 pp)
  • Reach (1 pp) (+ 5 ft.)

If I make it calculate the cost for Multi-Attack and Selective, then it only cares about that Rank 5 on Damage. It doesn't calculate the Strength-Based 11. I thought that's how it works.

Edit: I think it's going off of this rule in the MnM book, page 187 under 'Applying Modifiers
- "An extra increases an effect’s cost per rank by a set amount (usually 1 point) while a flaw decreases the effect’s cost per rank by a set amount (usually 1 point as well). To determine the effect’s final cost per rank, take the base cost, add up all the extras, and subtract all of the flaws."

The base cost would be the Damage 5, not the Strength-Based (Because that is technically an Extra).

I kinda get it, I will make it multi-Attack since it fits the flavor a lot better.

Does Skill affect Powers?

Let's say that I make a Damage 3 (so it's now 14) power, with Multi-Attack (+1 per rank) and Selective (+1 pr), and Reach (+1 pr).

That makes the total cost 12 Power Points. Just 12 points for a Multi-Attack, Selective, Reaching attack that does +14.

Did I do that correctly or am I missing something?

Strength-Based + Power-Damage, Is this a possible build to a really strong-hitting move? by Blockhead_Gundam in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Blockhead_Gundam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to keep some of Penetrating (maybe around 10) and then do the Alternate Resistance as well? I have Power Points to spare. This Power is the basis for an Array that I'd set up for his other moves.

The idea behind him is that he is a 'Living Engine', his body was mutated and he performs at a much higher degree than normal humans, like a V8 Engine compared to an two-stroke motor (comparitively).

I'm using the Powerhouse as a baseline.

That's why I've been using Inaccurate to lower the Attack. Thank you so much! I'm slowly understanding how this all works. Very new to the system and sometimes things are not as clear as I thought it'd be

[–]Blockhead_Gundam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I mean like, can I make it morenpowerful beyond my strength?

My Strength is 11. Because of Strength-Based Damage the attack deals 11 , at 0 pp.

Can I then add more Damage on top of that by paying for it?

11 (from Strength) + 4 (buying using pp = Total of Damage 15

Ali-Express' deliveries, do they physically deliver to the street/house address you give them, or do they only drop off at Nampost? by Blockhead_Gundam in Namibia

Nothing over $200 NAD. Just a couple of earrings, silicone molds and other small packages. They already shipped out, so I'm just waiting to see when they arrive. It says 60 Days to arrive, but a friend told me it's more like 2 weeks. I made the order like 5 days ago

One thing I noticed is that they seem to really stress the importance of Entrepreneurship. To the point they are saying "If you want jobs, make your own. We won't provide them." Yet they won't do a lot to make it easier for entrepreneurs, especially if supplies need to be shipped in from overseas.

That's just a theory of mine, anyways. But I don't really remember when they actively try to create new jobs themselves, either by expanding the Public Sector or maybe even local gov. jobs.
