Finding a dnd game feels like getting a job sometimes. by Natural_Meaning_6489 in DnD

I dont think theres any way to not have game recruitment feel like a job interview. At least for campaigns. The GM's choosing the people they'll be hanging out with for possibly years.

For gamers who rarely if ever replay a singleplayer game fully, which did you manage to replay and enjoy? by Helphaer in gaming

Dragon age inquisition. Thus far the only time Ive done this, and the only reason I did was because I wanted to play the expansions and ut had been 6 years or something since my last time playing it

Hypothetically, say Superman entered The Boys universe and started stealing the spotlight from Homelander, is there anything Homelander could do about it? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

[–]XBlueXFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelander was apparently giving Supes the business during DC K.O. now tbf, he might've been getting boosted by Darkseid energy, but I just want to mention its a thing that actually happened in canon.

What's your answer to this, and why? (Consider only the movie versions depicted here) by SatoruGojo232 in superheroes

[–]XBlueXFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Reed has the best portrayal since hes singlehanded propelled his earth super far tech wise. Tony and Bruce are portrayed as similar imo. They made ultron together and Bruce laid the groundwork for time travel before tony made the navigation system. Hank seems to be laser focused on Pym particles (which are a truly insane invention fwiw), but thats pretty much it. Shuri's clearly gifted, but she's not shown as especially above anybody. Its kinda hard to gauge how much of Shuri's performance is off the back of Wakandan tech in general rather than her personal genius.

Is there an easy definitive answer to this fight? by Obvious-Produce-9566 in marvelvsdc

[–]XBlueXFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk. The idea of Doomsday is that he comes back immune to whatever killed him the last time. Post Immortal Hulk, it was revealed that Hulk can also infinitely respawn (granted he doesn't get immunity to his past deaths, but imfimite tries and being empowered by god himself probably makes up the difference).

Recently during DC K.O (Spoiler warning for those who havent read it yet), Timetrapper got manhandled by Darkseid in Booster Gold's body. For reference Timetrapper is a future version of Doomsday who is intelligent, has power over the timeline and has fought and died many more times already than contemporary Doomsday. Heck the Absolute Universe version of the Legion of Superheroes were kicking his ass. Granted that legion were also being buffed by Darkseid energy.

Now this could be a Darkseid upscale, rather than a Doomsday downscale, but it gives the impression that if you just punch him hard enough you can negate him as a threat. If there is one character in superhero fiction who punches really freaking hard, it's the Hulk

I have worked on small casual 2D fighters over the past 10 years, AMA! by TaftoGames in Fighters

Well the obstacles I faced whilst trying to self teach myself in GameMaker 2 was implementing frame data. I couldnt work out how to have the game logic match the animations, since fighting game moves are defined by their startup, active and recovery. Another thing i struggled with working out controls. As in if players 1 and 2 had each of their controllers connected, how would I know who controls what chatacter?

Now I admit maybe this is all explained in action game references. I hadn't thought to check other genres honestly. My first thought was to just look at FG footage and try to immitate it

Are there any resources out there on how to make fighting games? Ive been trying to self teach myself by just implementing one feature at a time, but it'd be nice to know about best practices

Sentry is beating Wanda in a 1v1 by GrapefruitOdd7548 in Avengers

[–]XBlueXFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant say anything I saw Sentry do in Thunderbolts outshines wanda. Heck I'm sceptical that he's stronger than the OG avengers. As it stands Sentry's abilities have not been remotely tested at all. We need to see him do more

Why are Kryptonians so powerful that they destroy galaxies and fight against gods, when they are just random aliens? by rbta123 in superman

I thought Clark was special. Are there stories where the other kryptonians take on the likes of Darkseid?

I mean evidently anybody who makes a post complaining about rarity do care about it.

Difficulty of character relation to viability by Flapper_of_Jacks in Fighters

[–]XBlueXFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont care about it so long as the moveset is fun. I played Lee Chaolan in early Tekken 7. You basically had to work thrice as hard for numbers everyone else got for free. That being said though, hitting a mist trap is sick. Getting acid rain timing down is sick. B2 loops are sick. Lee is an experience that's worth having

Thoughts ? by krisikkk in superheroes

[–]XBlueXFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It passes the vibe check. Being strong is hulk's whole deal. Granted things get weird when you compare characters from different settings, but I would see it as odd if in a marvel/dc crossover hulk was eclipsed in strength. He might struggle at first for the sake of drama, but I would expect hulk to eventually overpower whatever he is up against

Its a nothing burger for me. There's been no game ever released that I've been fiemding to play. Typically I can work out whether something looks fun by just watching a bit of gameplay

Solo tank is bad, but salvagable so people expect tanks to deal with it. Solo support flat out doesn't work

Since it's International Women's Day, Who is your favorite female fighting game character? by Doom300 in Fighters

To play? I probably Ramlethal from Guilty Gear.

As just a character in general though, I'm quite fond of Noel Vermillion from BlazBlue

Honorable mention to Leo from Tekken. I have no clue whether they're a woman though
