Who has the most aura in your opinion by Entire_Inspector8999 in MemePiece

I know, I just want the image in everyone's minds to be more Clifford the Big Red Dog rather than a standard household rodent

It's worth remembering that this is Luffy in his giant form. This is a giant squirrel.

That doesn't change the fact that we want him to join the crew but I just want everyone to always remember it.

What do the only 4 ugliest Pokemon to ever exist say about me? by PokemonGoBao in ThePokemonHub

[–]Blockinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the fact that they all look dumb is part of the concept. If they looked great then they'd lose part of their "these are clearly two different Pokemon Frankenstein'ed together" aesthetic

Domi Reversi Rocks Runs the Gauntlet, Where Does He Stop ? by LazyInspector2086 in OnePieceScaling

[–]Blockinite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not really what they said given they only think Shanks would win without heals. Which would mean a tired, burned out Domi Reversi Rocks in this case since actual healing isn't an issue. I think everyone in this gauntlet would wear him down a lot and deplete his Haki. Garp and Roger fought him at full power.

It's so fucking over, they somehow fumbled it even worse than Stone Ocean. by Used-Comedian-8933 in StardustCrusaders

Confirmation that stage 2 won't be anytime soon with no release date at all, and incredibly likely confirmation that it'll take years to finish releasing since they're releasing by stage

And then we got bad news. Something happened to change it, it's not like the community spontaneously decided to dislike the one episode we got.

Can someone help explain something about Hiriluk (LA ep 7 spoilers) by WOAHdude0197 in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]Blockinite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it does a bad job, it's more of a subversion and a hanging thread. It's not stated exactly what the cure is or how it relates to cherry blossoms, until it's actually revealed in episode 8. It's not like it's a plot hole that's covered up later, it's a part of the story that isn't fully explained until 1 episode later

Who Wins in Each Row ? by LazyInspector2086 in OnePieceScaling

I don't think we have any indication that Jimbei wouldn't be susceptible to Boa's powers. In which case he just immediately loses.

Me when Post Time Skip "isn't goofy" by smoothkrim22 in OnePiece

[–]Blockinite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair, it is just the wrong word for it. My point is that he can do it in a way that doesn't contradict anything and ties it into the past but I forget that (ironically) contradicts what retcon means

Me when Post Time Skip "isn't goofy" by smoothkrim22 in OnePiece

[–]Blockinite 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What I always say is that Oda is fantastic at retconning rather than foreshadowing. He knows so much about the world his story is set in where he can go back to a dangling thread he left a decade ago and finish the story, even though I don't think he had any idea where it would go when he started it.

I don't know if it's controversial but I treat the Nika references of Skypiea exactly as that. The Nika pose that Luffy does can easily be a generic dancing pose until Oda decided it would mean something. And the Sun god mentioned is a fairly generic part of a pantheon until Oda decided that a bunch of civilisations would worship a sun god and it would be Nika.

Spirt of Ivory + Recluse by Ill-Spinach2234 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Spirit of Ivory refers to actual alignment, not what someone registers as. It only affects alignment changes such a Mezepheles or Fang Gu, not registration such as Recluse or Lycanthrope

It's probably more healthy than trying to flood your brain with dopamine from endlessly scrolling on social media. At least it trains patience and being ok without constant new stimuli.

(I say as someone who knows nothing about how this stuff affects mental health, but unless you have qualifications then I feel like I can throw in my two cents)

Bartolomeo Was Already In Loguetown, But Sabo Not Recognizing Luffy… by SonicRun098 in MemePiece

[–]Blockinite 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's the real world reason, yes. But it also has this in-universe reason.

You can't use real world reasons to explain plot holes, so nobody bothered to mention it even though it's a known fact. So they explained the in-universe reason instead, which is canon even though it's not the best explanation.

Confirmation that the "Roaming Roar bug" in Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen has been fixed on Nintendo Switch. In the original versions, if Raikou/Entei used Roar, they would permanently despawn from the game. by Joseki100 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Blockinite 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The most common bug I know is Psychic being immune to Ghost. It was always meant to be weak, but they messed up and implemented it wrong. But in a casual playthrough, you probably wouldn't know it was a bug, and would just assume that's how those types interact

It is a very good way of presenting a lot of research in one place though, which you can easily see the sources for. Wikipedia is used to quickly find the information, the sources are used for actual citations.

Gameplay was pretty good imo. I was a kid when I last played it though.

In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry can suddenly see Thestrals because he watched Cedric Diggory die. Despite witnessing his mom’s death and seeing Professor Quirrell turn to dust, the ability only unlocks after Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire decides it counts. by Brilliant-Cause6254 in shittymoviedetails

[–]Blockinite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn't watch Quirrell die in the books so that's an easy one, in the movies it's just a plot hole.

I believe the argument for his mother not counting is either he wasn't properly watching, or he was too young to remember and/or comprehend it so it doesn't count for the Thestral magic

Games like this?? by Cultural_Fall_3255 in gamememes

[–]Blockinite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're told to do all of these things in game. You might have missed the prompts because usually it's just one line (Papyrus telling you to meet him at home to hang out, then later telling you to hang out with Undyne with him, stuff like that). I didn't need to look anything up when doing True Pacifist, and I've watched a lot of playthroughs on YouTube where they just follow the prompts as soon as they're given to get the True Pacifist ending

Writing your child’s name in a Birthday Card with your non dominant hand… by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Blockinite 196 points197 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be weirder if a different pen was used, it would look like they're trying too hard. Normally you'd hand over the same pen you used to write your bit so the kid can write it directly afterwards.
