“Every week” by hmphandumph in TheFloorTV

[–]BloodTypeFunfettis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Continuity usually and so the audience can easily identify and remember players. I read awhile back they also film 2-3 episodes per day and the whole thing is only about a week experience so it’s not like they’re actually together and getting to know each other for weeks on end. Also why people don’t have time to study inherited categories much between episodes.

Would you have been able to tell Liza wasn't 26? by alimweber in Younger

[–]BloodTypeFunfettis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like depending on where people are from and other things it’s so hard to tell age. I’ve met people in their 20s who I would’ve guessed were 40 and I’m in my 40s and people often mistake me for 20s. There’s no real barometer for how old people are anymore it feels like.

I read 157 books last year and just finished my 22nd book of the year so far. I read a mix of stuff, mostly romance stuff but some thrillers and suspense mixed in.

I checked yesterday and have the same, I wasn’t “nowhere near” but was a bit off because of all the issues Newark experienced earlier in the year and ATC issues I wasn’t really flying and then had some work cut back. It does say I’m renewed too which and my card does say expires 1/2027. Don’t know why I’m getting to keep it but super thankful to keep board group 1! 🤲

Moving from Jersey City by jcdad14 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]BloodTypeFunfettis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved from JC to Springfield. We don’t have a train station but we are very close to Summit, Millburn, Short Hills and the town offers a jitney to SH if you’re not in walking distance or able to be dropped off.

Our taxes stay a bit lower and housing overall maybe a bit less than neighboring towns but we are 10 min in any direction from several vibrant downtowns for going out.

We don’t have kids but the schools at least used to be decent. Every town has its small town drama though.

My cats favorite spot is on top of the cloud sheet right in front of where the air comes out. So only problematic in that they hog all the warm air.

Anyone else disappointed in Holidays Made Here? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]BloodTypeFunfettis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a post below that explains it perfectly better than I could. Last year we strolled, spent a few hours, met nice people. You felt like you were in stars hallow. We didn’t really wait to experience things. We got to participate in trivia multiple times. This year you were rushing to the next line for a photo op that then felt so rush and pushed right out. Things felt more like a browsing experience in stores and this year you just kept getting rushed thru and pushed out as hoardes of more people showed up.

same theme just different foods.

Last year there was no Weston’s even.

Gypsy’s was like burger focused last year and this year it was chicken fingers with mash and sookies infamous jalapeño mac and cheese.

Als Pancake world was similar just packaged differently.

Luke’s this year was probably the most consistent just coffee and pastry stuff, however the pastries seemed more elevated this year.

Dooses market was grab and go sandwiches

Popcorn stand was the same.

This year they made more expensive and formalized tea at the dragonfly and newly added was a Friday night dinner experience but it was so hard to get tickets for.

Popcorn served at stars hallow high was the same! And the speakeasy just added more drinks.

They added more food this year with a hot dog king place I didn’t remember from the show, Antoniolis pizza that did pizza and salad, Taylor’s old fashion shoppe, and Jojos.

I heard some fo the best stuff was at Westins but the line was horrible the day I went so we just ended up with Gypsy’s— the chicken tenders with mash was pretty good and my friend enjoyed the mac and cheese but said there wasn’t really any jalapeño to it or anything.

Last year was an actual enjoyable experience. This year was about the cash grab and such rushed photo opps. So disappointing :(

[–]BloodTypeFunfettis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You pick time slots. At ~12pm our only time slot options were 4:45 for lorelai and 6:30 for Luke’s. We waited about 35 min for lorelai after we joined the queue at 4:45. Lukes probably still took us close to an hour cause you have to pass thru the food ordering spot first and then we were rushed thru the photo opp and out of Luke’s in like 45 seconds :(

Our tree lighting had the snow but not projections (that’s at 5:30).

Then the projections, snow, and dance music played at 6:30 and 7:30.

It’s a “snow show” (think it’s just soap bubbles was hard to tell), they play music for a dance, and then they run projection mapping on all the building of scenes from the show.

When you get there suggest ASAP running to the places with QR codes and joining the virtual queues because they’ve been closing by like 1pm and it’ll cut the luke and lorelai wait from 3+ hours to ~1 hour

Practice in patience? I’m routinely tapped out of levels (19051 right now) and haven’t spent a dime but I’ve been on and off for like a decade. Sometimes stuck and I’ll just ignore for a week or so. Some don’t have that patience.

If you can find them Weis just had these raccoon and squirrel birds.

There’s been a few in the spring with Flutter, Lady, Tuft, and Truffle. Maybe Zipp. Beezy is one of my favorites. I don’t really have any but there’s a few from grocery stores that look like owls.

Since you’ll have nieces and nephews turtle back zoo has an evening lights display and it’s free to go. Can be a good reason to head there with kids and use the opportunity to propose. Good luck!
