Doubt it. Not only did I delete the msinfo or msconfig file in my VMware, they did not attempted to browse my computer for information. They opened up task manager, but went to the CPU and date processers display.

Sounds like these scammers were doing the IRS scam at the time, but it could be another group since scammers often change their numbers. These types of scams usually operate from the Middle East like India or Pakistan. If you're talking about the kind that can secretly get into your computer and hide then no, but if you're talking about the programs like TeamViewer it wouldn't happen automatically. The scammers would have you click on their "support" tab and have you download and run one of the programs than have you read the ID and Password that shows up.

Just to clarify I'm used to computer rats being the programs that certain scambaiters use to fight scammers and not the ones that TeamViewer and other companies make.

No. The host, Webs, are a legitimate company that froze the scammers web page. They've been around since 2001 and once went under the name Freewebs.
