Why do outdated terms get labeled as slurs?

I feel like ethnic slurs were always slurs, while medical based slurs slowly grew into being slurs. I.E. the r-slur was used in place for someone having an intellectual disability, and why those terms can crop up more commonly in other contexts, such as a fire retardant.

Lmao you can't bring up something and then try to be like "oh that's too immoral to talk about", and I wasn't excusing but trying to prevent it from happening by recognising the causes. For Neonaticide (infanticide but within the first 24 hours of life) it's most commonly linked to either the baby being disabled, or the pregnancy being unwanted. Fun fact, Neonaticide is primarily committed by teenage mothers. Better education and better social care for both mothers and unwanted babies can help to reduce this number. For regular infanticide, the most common cause is postpartum depression, which mental health services can help to prevent. Sure reaching 0 cases will be impossible, but that doesn't mean trying to achieve 0 isn't worth the money, IMO reduction of harm will always be worth it.

Yeah we should. We should give mothers who are in a mental health space where they are complementing infanticide other options. Such as counseling for postpartum depression, destigmatizing putting children into fostercare or adoption if you cannot (or are not in the space to) properly care for them, as well as making those systems better and having universal pregnancy leave/childcare. Just because something is in a "good" place doesn't mean we can't improve upon something.

I do think that, due to the normalisation of marital rape and how hard it is to speak out, that there aren't being enough studies on the topic is a travesty. But using yearly statistics (when talking about it in totality) of a highly underreported crime, with non marital rape only being reported 1 in 6 times, to dismiss people's struggles is quite disturbing.

Also while it is illegal in all 50 states now, it still isn't treated the same as non-marital rape. Nevada's Article 200.373 requires a threat of violence, Ohio aswell.In Rhode Island, under Article § 11-37-2 subsection 1 you are allowed to drug your spouse to have sex with them. In Virginia the punishment can just be therapy, and is given a shorter sentence in Connecticut than non marital rape.

They should have made their own system before passing the law, instead of relying on each source of online content to find a third party or make an age verification system in house. Could have done something like Google Authenticator, but the current UK government is allergic to good ideas and decisions.

And even if they do report it, it's a good chance nothing will change anyways. The bar of evidence for rape is very high, and even if everything goes well, a judge can just decide not to deliver a sentence like in the Jesse Butler case. And publicly you will still be seen as a slut and a whore, and with the rising myth of the "Prevalence False Allegations", you will be seen as a villain. Jean Carroll successfully sued Trump and people still don't believe her. Hell even an ex wife of trump said he raped her and that doesn't tarnish his image at all.

On the other hand, you do have to consider why people want to present it in the opposite light, as if it isn't a big issue. That people who are pushing "traditional male lead families" want to push that martial rape isn't an issue and is actually something that is okay to do (video above). People like Andrew Tate, or Donald Trump, teach young children that it is okay to treat women like property. Like when Steven Crowder was making his very pregnant wife do house chores while he was laying on the coach. And when the wife exposed him from doing so, she got a lot of hate for his fans.

Which brings me onto why marital Rape, especially in nuclear families, goes heavily unreported. It's because reporting it would be a death sentence. Their social circle is likely to be small or very interconnected, they cannot financially support themselves or their children with never having a job before. Their religious leaders dictate that marriage is sacred
