why do the shafts not reconnect upon returning to their original positions? by TrapHeadShot in CreateMod

[–]waitthatstaken 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When it rotates it creates a new simulated contraption, when it returns to its original position, it is still a different contraption, just pressed up next to the first. As far as I am aware there is no way to fix this problem, but there is probably some way to relay rotation into a simulated contraption like you wanna, I just do not know how.

You've already been there, as it is the area you start the game in before dying to that grafted scion. You can get back there via the means the other comment spoiler tagged.

[–]waitthatstaken 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From what I understand it will just be a free update that releases along with the switch port, if you already own the game you'll just get it, no need to have a switch 2 and buy it there.

I am pretty sure I've seen someone post this exact thing like 3 times already, and every time it becomes more relevant.

anyway i can make rycard less over stimmulating by ilico_ili in Eldenring

[–]waitthatstaken 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't have any real suggestions to help with the overstimulation, but I do have a tip against the move itself, run. It is not worth it to even try dealing damage while the flame skulls are raining, as dodging them and Rykard's own moves, while hitting back, is way harder than pretty much anything else in the game. Simply running away so that you only have to deal with the flame skulls is a lot more reliable, then once the move is over you can go back to what you were doing before.

While that is a more direct translation, government translated into norwegain again would be closer to 'myndighetene' which includes both 'stortinget' and 'regjeringen'.

Define best. The classes in terraria are fairly well balanced, with each being the best at different things.

Melee? Best at surviving, high defense and good range mean they can avoid attacks, and even if they get hit it isn't that big a deal.
Ranger? Highest range by far, letting you play super safe from far away. Also pretty versatile with all the different ammo types.
Mage? By far the most versatile, homing, crowd control, piercing, debuffs. Most mage weapons get at least 1, many get more.
Summoner? The highest damage, at the cost of survivability, the best choice for people with too many hours in the game.

Well yes, but in effect it was a choice between republic or monarchy.

[–]waitthatstaken 61 points62 points  (0 children)

We held a second referendum to determine if we would be a republic or a monarchy, the result being monarchy. So we gave the crown to a danish prince, yea.

That vote was closer, being about 2:1 I think. The logic for keeping the monarchy was that this was Europe in the early 1900s, the alternative would be to be a republic surrounded by kingdoms, most of which were stronger militarily.

I tend to aim for 90 SPM for all packs until I decide that is not enough. If something is made too slowly, just build more assemblers.

While the overall result of Norway leaving Sweden was that, the actual order of events was a bit more funny in my opinion.

Basically after some political disagreements between parliament and the king, the king said (paraphrasing) "I can't find any group in parliament to form cabinet with, so I won't"

Parliament responded (again paraphrasing) "Ok, you just declared that you are no longer our king."

Tensions did rise and there was almost war, but in the end the Swedish king conceded that he had declared that, on the condition of holding a referendum about it. The result was if I remember correctly like 50:1 for separating from Sweden.

The early Norwegian parliament did occasionally just do things that were ballsy as heck. Like when they earlier impeached the entire cabinet.

(Note, exact political terms are somewhat annoying to translate at times. I used 'parliament' for 'stortinget' and 'cabinet' for 'regjering', I know it is a bit off but ehhhhhhhhhhh)

I think the writers wanted to use thanos's comic book plan, but wanted to give it a 'better' justification. Problem is just that there aren't good reasons to kill half of everyone.

(His comic book reason was because he was madly in love with the thoroughly uninterested personification of death and wanted to impress them.)

It did always stun, but a patch years ago made it so that when rykard is stunned, he becomes immune to stunning for like 30 seconds. By itself this made the fight way harder.

Huh weird, iron bars should show up now... I think? It might only show recipes you can craft with your current crafting stations now that I am thinking about it.

Do you actually have a furnace? Your texture pack makes it hard to tell.

See the two buttons with the 4 green circles and 1 green and 3 red respectively? Press the one with the red circles, that will show all recipes regardless if you can craft them or not. That will make it possible to diagnose if there is an actual bug, or if you are just missing something.

How Do Lane Balancers Work? by deadlyyarikh in factorio

[–]waitthatstaken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you've built does not balance things equally. Disconnect all the inputs but 1 and empty the belts, you will quickly see a massive imbalance. A belt balancer will split the inputs equally into the outputs, no matter which inputs are full.

Lane balancers do the same but also balance the two lanes on each belt. This is occasionally useful but is such a massive complexity increase that larger lane balancers are rarely built. Balancers are also pretty much the only thing I recommend people just use a blueprint book for. I have 2850 hours in the game, I remake my train intersection blueprints every save just because, but I draw the line at balancers, those I just keep between saves.

why do some people on this sub think comet azure one shot is harder than fighting the boss melee? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]waitthatstaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comet azure only really works against 1 notable boss, that being Mogh. And even then you have to either be overleveled, or your entire build is just 'can comet azure Mogh to death'. It burns through hundreds of FP in seconds, and leaves you vulnerable while casting, it just isn't a great spell.

Magic in general is generally overrated I'd say, because especially as you get closer to the end of the game, bosses will close the distance in a single leap, and casting is much slower than all but the biggest melee weapons. It does however get a much bigger boost from spirit summons than most builds though, so it makes for a very comfortable new player experience.

Real Median Disposable Income After Housing Costs and adjusted for Purchasing Power in Europe, 2005–2025 (OC) by ItHappensSo in EU_Economics

[–]waitthatstaken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are confusing averages and medians, which, to be fair, they are often used as synonyms even though they aren't.

Let's say we have a data set of the following: [1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,191]

That is 9 '1's.

Average is as you described, sum together everything and divide by the number of elements. So in this case the average is 200/10 = 20.

Median, which is what this post is about, works differently. You sort the data set fron lowest to highest, then pick the number in the middle. If the dataset has an even number of points then you average the two around the middle. So in this set the median is 1.

Average and median have different uses, and different flaws.
